I know tell me about it, I just want to see what happens. Would the axes just dissappear from the inventory or what.

The next couple of days are going to be very interesting especially for people who spent tons of ectos on mods.

Luckily I didn't mod any of mine yet. I had 2 Pre-Searing days the last 2 days (finally got to lvl 16! ) so I didn't have time to buy those mods, phew..

Well, I for one am going to enjoy it. A lot of rich farmers spent a lot on something that would make them even more rich. They've spent a lot of money and Ecto that was just lying in their storage, gathering dust, and now, they can't even get the upgrade partss from the axe
Almost like ANet intended this money sink.

based on the post from Gaile i anticipate that the axe will turn into just what was intended.

a nice axe for that level with the double mod feature removed (along with whatever extra mod is on it.

EDIT

i am baseing my assumption on this part

In other words, this Uber Axe of Doooom will turn into a Nice But Normal-ish Axe in the very near (I'd say within 24-48 hours) future.

Their accounts got banned.

I would watch out if I was you...
U must be jokin??? wat did i do wrong?? all i did was use the upgrades(which are available in game) to use on the axe which i got from the game. I didn't see anything in game manual sayin u can't use certain upgrades on certain weapons, or u'll get banned. It not like i hack the game n made something that doesnt exist. If they erase my char cos i have this axe i dont think i'll wanna play this game anymore.. i didn't buy gw gold from ebay to get fissure, perfect fellblades, storm bow, shield, etc.

Plus i dont think 60hp axe is big deal.. its not like my warrior is gonna be unstoppable with little extra hp..

actually she is not joking and they have banned accounts for using exploit before.

the last one was the interrupted ascention trick to get the uber exp repeatedly which caused several accounts to be lost.

i dont think that will happen in this case to small time offenders like you.

the +60 is a huge advantage considering people are fighting for every extra individual point they can get .

the HOD sword gives +5 to energy beyond expected and goes for up to and over 250k (250k for 5 points)

i wouldnt worry and i have 10 of them with 2 of the old skin ones besides

I got one of these axe with my elementlist (it only got a +25 health with a +20 health grip on it) and i don't see why this can't be kept in game as it is. Look at HoD swords and axes, those thing give you + energy yet it still remain in the game (althought you can't craft it anymore). Removing this axe on anyone who has modded it is a bad idea.

Well, personally I think it was a tool ... handed down by Santa Claus himself, to determine who in GW has been naughty and nice ... all of you axe exploiters are getting a lump of coal in your stocking (and i'm not talking the rare crafting material, either!)

Ho ho ho!

putting two hp mods on the axe (though still exploiting a bug) isn't nearly as over-powered as putting on two enchant mods... as everyone has said, it adds a VERY unfair element in PvP (giving those PvP monks w/ the $$ to spend unfair advantages over those who can't afford it) as well as making solo-farming all the easier... and A-net is definately doing the right thing by nerfing it...

it's a glitch, folks, let it go... everyone (whether they're willing to admit it or not) knew the risk of dropping $$$ into a glitched item.. just hope you enjoyed it while it lasted

I disagree. Whilst it is unfair that the HoD sword still remains in the game, having an extra five energy isn't the same as being able to keep enchantments up for an indefinite period of time.

5 energy means absolutely nothing in comparison to 40% longer enchants.

2 MO/Mes can spellbreaker an entire team for 35 seconds in tombs. Arcane mimicry, arcane echo, and echo plus spellbreaker = an entire team being impervious to any spell for 35 seconds at a time.

Add in a 3rd monk to cover the minimal downtime and you have a team completely immune to spellcasters.

How people can compare a sword that was designed to be the way it is, and a broken item that accepts dual suffix modification as an obvious exploit is beyond me.

Look up how many enchantments there are in the game, and then try to convince yourself that 5 energy from a sword made the same impact as double modding enchantment extensions.

Amazing.

Than answer this riddle, how did adding 5 energy to your character improve that much compare to two enchantment mods on this axe or +60 health?

If thats the case, bring my HoD swords and axes since it causing a gold sink and it doesn't do much PvP-wise. I mean 5 energy, you can waste it all in few spells.

I think what you mean is, what's the point of the HoD sword? Not much, it's just nice to have that extra five energy.

Than why did A-Net remove it in the first place? They should bring it back!

There is a large comparison

Why is the HOD sword being sold for 250K... Bc it is an advantage and bc they nerfed it...
Why is the Rockmolder being sold for 50K+ and soon who knows.... Bc they nerfed it...

ppl that dont have either are at a great disadvantage before they even start the game...

Now we find another weapon that will help us and maybe bring us MAD money like those items did.
The weapons got nerfed bc the Developers messed up... They were a glitch and ppl exploited them.. and still do

This is the same case... They messed up... I have had this weapon for a while... and more in inventory

U have a HOD sword or can afford one, Good For You.
This is my Axe and I dont want it to get nerfed.

U want to delete the Axe, Delete the HOD and Rockmolder
TO MAKE IT BALANCED

I personally don't give a rat's about PVP; all A-net has to do is prevent it from being used in PVP and both sides are happy. If they do decide to pull it, then the Rockmolder and HoD sword should be pulled as well. All of these items can affect the outcome of a PVP battle. It doesn't matter by how much per item, only the fact that it could affect the outcome is relevant. It's the 'I'm just a little bit pregnant' argument. No, you're pregnant, only in this case, it's no, you're bugged.

if you dont actually see the difference between a few extra points of energy and increasing the power of enchantments by 40% you have a interesting mindset.

the comparison in this case would be

*I JUST FOUND OUT I AM PREGNANT* compared to

* I AM GOING INTO LABOR CALL THE DOCTOR* (it has only been 9.5 months coming)

there is a quality/quantity difference that is that big

Why was the Rockmolder and HOD removed....... Nerfed
Tell me....

And is there a difference... I agree with you, yes there is a large difference in power

But Compare the HOD sword to any other sword
There is also a large difference in power level

I would love an HOD sword for 100K... not gonna happen
So the game for me is unbalanced and for all the new players.

How do u make the game BALANCED
REMOVE THE WEAPONS U NERFED

It's against the EULA to put available mods on an available item? If this is true then every time you mod something you are breaking the EULA. That's like saying that it is against the EULA to buy an item that you know to be worth a lot from someone who is spamming "WTS XXXITEM 1k". If you are doing something to circumvent a rule that is one thing, but putting a mod on a weapon is not breaking the EULA in my opinion. It may be an exploit, but it is a known exploit that has been in the game since day one and ANET hasn't done anything to stop it. If they were so worried about it why didn't they fix it earlier. I say SELL THOSE AXES! If ANET wants to change the axes then they should, but the ones that are in circulation should not be changed.

Actually, you aren't increasing the power of enchantments by 40%. You aren't even increasing the length of the enchants by 40%... You are increasing the enchants by 24% (120% x 20%) It IS a big deal, but lets not make it bigger than it is.
