Bow Attacks Which one is faster?

Hiya all.
I was wondering, since there are so many different varieties of bow classes in Guild War, which is most effective at which situation, etc.
But my main question is,
Which one shoots faster? i means as in, is there a difference in the time to prepare the arrow to shoot? since i think the traveling time of arrows seem almost exact in every bow to me. Thanks in advance!!!

Just as a side note, you may not beleive after reading that that the arrow flight times are different, but trust me, that's accurate, they are.

Having used all of those bows at one time or another, plus the Shadow Bow, I'd say they are pretty accurate. BTW - I hated the Shadow Bow... it is really sloooooooow. My fav is the shortbow so far, but that might be because I made my toon a midget hehe.

I dunno, I like composite and recurves. I find them a nice middle ground.

Anyone have stats for the pre-order bow?

Damage: impressive looking till you realize it what the requirments are, and realize there's much better bows with less requirments. (aka Don't remember, just remember it got outdated before I could even use it.)

That's a nice bow. It should be good to you up until around maybe 14th or 15th level, at which point I would look for more damage.

that's a pretty good bow. you should customize it to add 20+ damage. right now, i have a long bow at 11-19 damage and 20+ bonus damage. i can get up to a max of 50+ damage when using ranger attack abilities like power shot.

Making sure I have it right, taking the flatbow:
I fire every 2 seconds, and my target will be shot at on the 3rd/5th/7th second, etc
OR I'm waiting for the flight time admiring my shot and I fire every 3 seconds
firing at my target on the 3rd/6th/9th second, etc

It means that the arrow will take one second to reach 100'. You begin setting up for your next shot as soon as your 2 second refire is up. To compare it to a short bow, it would take .5 seconds to reach 50', while the compostie bow reaches 80 in that time.

Its quite funny, as the flight time is proportionate to the distance...

So comparing a shortbow with a flatbow by flight time isnt really true since it takes the flatbow 1 second to reach 100 feet, but not 1 second to reach the 70 feet of the shortbow

Actually, I don't believe that is the case. The flight time might be diminished somewhat, but the bows with a slower flight time will always take longer over any given distance than the faster ones. The way this is managed (so as to avoid a strange slow motion effect) is the arrow arcs much higher. This actually has some advantages, as it allows you to fire over obstructions easier.

Also, it *might* result in a higher incidence of headshots, which is advantageous if you enemy's head armor is weaker/different than the rest.

MMM could be, though i havent really noticed a higher arc when i got closer (but then again i never paid attention to that :P

I'll see if its true, but i was more pointing out that you shouldnt focus too much on the numbers since like i said they could depend on different situations, just like distance increasing with hight

Use a flat, long or Ithas bow if you want to notice the arcing. The Ithas bow in particular has an exceedingly high arc. I agree with you that range vs. flight time isn't that critical for general use. There have been instances when the long range and high arc has been a critical help and other times a hinderance, depending on the situation.

The most important all-around number is firing rate, as that is ultimately going to decide your damage output over time.

One thing I wish they would include on weapons stats is the delay of the weapon. Anyone know if that is going to be implemented in the future because it would be really helpful.

I would agree with this when determining DPS. because the firing rate isn't a factor on the first shot but it does determine DPS for subsequent shots. But when you are using Distracting shot to interupt a caster. Then you need to take a harder look at flight time, because an arrow that hits it's target in .5 seconds has a much better chance to interupt before the spell finishes than an arrow that takes 1 second to reach the target.

Plus an arrow that flies faster is less likely to be dodged or outright miss because your target is running across your field of view. The Composite, Dead Bow or Recurve all travel at 160 Ft/sec making them the fastest traveling arrow.

If you look at the Feet/sec, there are only 5 variations. Flatbow being the slowest at 100 Ft/sec. Some have identical stats(The Composite, Dead Bow & Recurve) have identical stats. The real question is: Are their trajectories identical?

what do u guys suggest: Which is the best Bow?
from the evidence of the above content, im seeing that proportionally, the flatbow has the fastest refire rate, distance, and the least flight time (which is good).
does it work proportionally? the flight time and distance?
for example,
the flatbow has range of 100, and flight time of 1 second.
the composite bow has a range of 80 and flight time of 0.5 second.
proportionally speaking, would it be for flatbow,
in 0.5 second, will fly a range of 50?
if so, what do u guys think is the best PvP bow?
i seem to be missing targets less often when shooting with a composite bow.
