OK, I think we can all agree that as a person unlocks everything they use the pre-builds less and less. I never use them.
Let us customize and save our own pre-builds. This would include runes and weapons/weapon upgrades.
I see it working like this:
Pre-build save 1: My Mesmer/Necro with corpse control
Pre-build save 2: My Mesmer/Ele with Windborn
Pre-Build save 3: My fastcasting resser Mesmer
Pre-build save 4: My Warrior/Ele with gale
There are lots of possibilities.
It would be fun, fast, and I think it would not hurt much.
Customizeable Prebuilds for Everyone!!!!

I had thought of something similar to this before, except I thought it should be that with each character individually you could save a certain skill bar setup and attribute setup (build), name it, and select various builds youve made for that character from a list. So you could instantly switch from a trapper build, to a spiker build, to a tanking build while in town.

Did I mention that you should only be able to save prebuilds using things you have already unlocked? |
But more about Jack of all trades... Doesnt it go Jack of all trades Master of none?

Master of none, maybe, but still this is just a bump to try and stirr some interest. I was switching my Mes from Mes/Mo to Mes/N again last night (happens almost every night) and forgot my weapon choices this time. Had to remake a-f..king-gain.
Ohh how I would love to save my 5-10 favorite builds in the PvP only creation screen.
Let's all admit it, the prebuilds are for people to joke around with, after they have unlocked a nice selection of runes and skills.
The best one is the Fi Boon healer. But, any healer that plays Boon Healer, changes it slightly and adds runes to the build, as well as weapon choices/upgrades.
Let us customize this Please!!!!!!!!!!

I post a link to this on my guild page and people respond with stuff like this:
Why did he not post that here? Good question, but here is the opinion of one of my monking friends that is for it and a shameless bump.

Hey I'm the Jack of all trades too. Just look at my in-game name

Customizable prebuilds would be awesome. Most of the time in PvP stuff I play a monk, and the amount of things that you can't change with a pvp character means a lot of time rerolling. There are about 2 or 3 different monk builds that I change on an almost daily basis, and being able to save those settings would be a great help. (no more sounds of impatient people on vent or TS)

It'd be so much cooler to just pop up your builds menu while in a town or outpost, select ur presaved build or save the build you have currently equipped and off you go. This whole idea would be a save on character basis because your monk couldnt apply a ranger build to it or your second ranger might not have the same stuff unlocked etc. Same build saver idea could also be applied for making pvp chars (during the process of making them), just save what you just made so when you reroll and want to roll old builds back later ....
Fast & fun and can't be way too hard to implement i'd say...
I appreciate the bump, but I think discussing a way to save builds on your PvE characters belongs in a different thread.
However, I would still love to see A.Net come up with a way for me customize the prebuilds with skills, runes, armor, and weapon choices that I have unlocked.
Even though I hear that there are new pre-builds being submitted, I suspect that I will not really use many of them.

It should be like this:
We can only switch between saved builds intown
We get a private screen ingame like heroes, attributes, get arrows, left and right from out skill bar to switch between skill build 1: running, 2: Tank, and so on and so on, individualy for each primary profession
hope they do it

I thought of this before and it's a great idea.
So to sum it up:
1) Add a secondary profession changer in the guild hall/or pvp areas for pvp characters and pve characters.
This only presents one problem. Character flexibility would be great but what about the items/runes?
maybe a pvp only item vault that contains all the items from the character creation screen.
2)the ability to save builds (up to 4 or so) Per Character that would only include skills you've unlocked. And you would only be able to save skills and possibly a skill point allocation, you would have to redistribute items and runes on your own via pvp vault.
That's my take on it at least.

I think all these ideas are interesting.
But, I think as Chev of Hardass:
There are several different ideas which might be better considered separate, to save builds has been reproduced in this thread:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=139484
But as it is closed, now all these ideas have to be discussed here together, this allows a comparison.
These are the ideas:
1- Customizeable Prebuilds[for skills], has to be with characters creation
2- customize and save our own pre-builds. This would include runes and weapons/weapon upgrades, is a more evolved concept
3- Add My Builds menu, the ability to pre-set skills, the ability to save builds (up to 4 or so) Per Character, has to be with a character's skills management
4- adding a secondary profession changer in PVP areas for PVE characters and PVP characters, is another thing.
5- a pvp only item vault that contains all the [unloked] items from the character creation screen, is another thing.
6- what about the items/runes? [what about an NPC in PvP where a character may change unlocked runes], is another thing.
So, which of these features are the more interesting and you would like to see first? It seems to me that (3) having the ability to save skill bar builds for an, already, created character is the most voted.
My vote goes for (3), (4), (5) and (6). This way (1) and (2) become unnecessary for me.
But, I think as Chev of Hardass:
