Q: How come Halloween was set to have some kind of Promotion within the game and NOT Thanksgiving? Is their any other answer than this?
A:Someone told me Thanksgiving is NOT a national set holiday. WELL SO IS CHRISTMAS. Now since Thanksgiving no promotion came on, I SURE HOPE theres NO promotion on christmas.

I'll hazard a guess and say it's probably since Halloween and Christmas are slightly more universal than the US Thanksgiving holiday. If they do something for Christmas, it'd be nice. Beats me why you'd be upset if they chose to give us something for the festive season, but then again I would've thought the answer to your first question was obvious...the US is not the only country playing the game .

Even those with thanksgiving holidays of their own, why should they celebrate it when the US does? Then again, as an alternative, Anet would have to do something for everyone's own little national holiday...and that's alot of events to play to.

Online game, universal appeal between countries and nationalities. A nice melting pot of players ... so why would the rest of us wanna observe a holiday only relevant to one country in many?

lol i'd have to agree with Feloriene. Though not EVERY country celebrates halloween/christmas/easter, MOST do. Whereas only the US celebrates thanksgiving, so if they do a thanksgiving one they'd have to do St Georges for us Brits, and St Patricks for the Irish, and *random holiday here for random country that only has 200 people in*

Yeah it's like Fireworks night for us in the uk it would have been cool to have a big in game display but as the day means nothing to any other country i wouldn't expect them to do anything for it.

There are too many holidays in all the different countries and theres no way they have the time to cover them all, i'd rather 1-2 events a year to make them something unique.

Considering they did do something for halloween (since it would fit in well) x-mas is another big name here in the u.s. and i'm pretty sure they'd do something for that also, besides, it could fit in easily just like the mad king did, maybe a mad santa or some stuff like that. thanskgiving, what would they do for it? have free food in game or such, theres no basis to do anything special other than maybe a giant turkey running around.

Well for some people their thanksgiving took place a month back.....so it would be kind of awkward.. halloween doesnt have 2 different days...and yes i think there will be one for christmans, for same reaon there was one on halloween.

Thanksgiving is more well known than Halloween in the US. Also when Thanksgiving comes, more people participate it in the US rather than Halloween. I am sure other countries (KOREA) do not celebrate Christmas, so it would not be fair to celebrate a holiday within the game, for just 2 countires. But comon, everyone knows when Thanksgiving is. Why do you think other countries study the United States history? Yes a big turkey, with big table of food would be good. And since they have pumpkin caps for halloween, I think they should have had turkey heads for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving means practically nothing in Canada. We had it quite a while ago too. It is a religious holiday but id say only Americans really care about it that much. Most likely because of your football. If a great hockey game happened specifically on thanksgiving i think it would be more popular for us as well

We don't know when it's on, don't know what it's for, and couldn't care about it.

Koreans have a thanksgiving day at the beginning of October called Chuseok.
They also celebrate Christmas and new year as national holidays.

you guys in europe know what it is. If you didnt how come these foreign people that come here know what it is? Are they smarter than the people that resign in there home country? Everyone in the world is taught english, and part of english is Thanksgiving, it appears in your literature books just as halloween and christmas. I also believe Korea is taught english as well, so its possible they know what Thanksgiving is. If they dont, I doubt they know what Christmas is.

It matters not if they know what it is, what gives us Americans the "right" to have all our holidays celebrated in-game?

Actualy, it is one of the few holidays that is not based on religion. It celebrates the indians helping the starving settlers. You'll notice we did not pay them back very well however. . .

Well Thanksgiving is not religous, Halloween is also, and same with Christmas, halloween and Christmas deal with Christanity. Christmas I believe is the birth of jesus. Halloween I think is something to do with the devil. However Thanksgiving isnt religous, its just what Banebow said, deals with pilgrims, and indians. A theme they could have done could probably deal with indians, maybe have they appear in Ventari Refuge, or someplace to big goods.

Canada is also in the same boat but being a Roman Catholic myself i know that thanksgiving doesnt rank anywhere near Christmas which symbolizes the birth of Christ. Halloween is another matter completely and i think Anet supported it simply because its religiously neutral. Christmas on the other hand is so cherished that even people who are not catholic celebrate it. So i'd bet you'll see some Christmas events and most likely Easter but only because there is so much children who love those days which make them incredibly popular regaurdless of religion.

You did not understand my point. The holiday is American. Other countries have holidays that may resemble thanksgiving, but I doubt they came about because of thanksgiving. This game has players from all over the world. Americans do not constitue the whole world. Therefore, thanksgiving is not celebrated in game.

If your all right about it being indian related then it makes plenty of sense. We have indians here and we pretty much did the same thing to them. We pay for it now though, the indians here are completely funded with our tax paying dollars and they pretty much live off financial aid. Mind you its not such a bad life. They get drunk all day and kill eachother over snowmobiles and whatever else they own. Thats not all of them but the majority of the natives that live on the reserves are jobless uneducated maggots who leech funds from our already corrupt government. With the few exception of intelligent indians who came to live in Canada and protect their fellow reject brothers. It's unfortunate and just as in America we give them their little plot of land and expect them to develop with such tiny land mass and paltry funds. We basically are buying them off so they can live in a crummy version of Eutopia. At least thats how it is here, i have never been to an American reserve.
