Hi. Last night me and a guildie were bored. We were both solo farming griffons and tried to solo UW together [now that was fun =)]. Anyway, we decided to try out 2-man farming at various parts of Tyria.
My guildie was using the 55hp Invincimonk build with a sword.
I was using my R/N and my skill set changed loads throughout the course of the evening.
My first build consisted of my maxing out Curses and Death, and putting the rest of the points into Expertise. We farmed outside Ember Light Camp.
I had 5 skills in my skillbar :P
These were:
Spiteful Spirit {E}
Deathly Swarm
Deathly Chill
Res
Capture Sig
Basically, my guildie would go and round up Mahgo Hydras and start using prot / healing skills on herself. I would be standing well back away from the hydras so I didn't aggro them. When they were all surrounding her I would cast Spiteful Spirit, followed by Deathly Swarm. I would allow my energy to recharge some before casting Deathly Swarm again. Deathly Chill was used when the targetd Hydra was low on health and could be taken out easily. I used Spiteful Spirit as often as possible - when its effect had worn off usually.
This farming experience was quite effective but slightly slow. It was fun though. Word of warning!: Don't try to farm Flesh Golems in this manner because they will stirp the enchantments from the monk, and kill her.
Next, we went to Augury, farming Griffons and Minos, as well as getting some Hydra action. This was pretty easy as the enemies here are weaker than Mahgo Hydras. However, drops have been over-nerfed outside Augury so there's really no point.
Next, we went to Droks and started farming Trolls. This was exceedinly funny as we kept aggro'ing Avicara =)
Anyway, the same builds were used on the trolls and it worked quite well. However, when coming against the troll bosses, we found the regen / skills wasn't that effective with the skills we were using. So I changed my build. I went pure ranger spike, maxing out marksmanship and having high expertise and good enough wilderness.
Ranger spiking is quite effective against the trolls, and they soon fell quickly - quicker than using the necro build I was testing. AFter a few skirmishes, me and my guildie decided that a barragebot build would be quite effective against the trolls.
That has yet to be tested, but I'll post an update when it is.
N.B. The purpose of this is not to farm for items and gold, although with the ******** ****** ** ***** we both got gold items and a fair amount of gold coins. This farming method, is generaly for fun, killing swathes of enemies with the fewest amount of people [2 being the minimum IMO - soloing it isn't as fun]. Also consider it as a 'bonding farming trip to know your guildies better.
