I did a search for this issue and didn't find any answers. Nor is it in the manual. I recently joined a guild. When I logged on with a different char., that one was in the same guild as well.
I figured that it was a bug. So I left the guild with that char. Now my original char. is also out of the guild as well.
Is this just me? Or is it a feature that I know nothing about?
All of my characters join the same guild?

but why? i have two brothers and they both play the Guild Wars...
i'm currently in my friends guild... but my one brother wants to go in his friends guild and my other wants to go make his own...
only reason we stayed with my friends guild is cause i'm older... and u know.. don't mess with the older bro
.. but still... i wish they could be in a guild of their choice...

You are not supposed to share accounts with other people. The fact that you do doesn't bother me but don't expect them to change the game mechanics to make it any easier for you. They simply didn't want any type of issues concerning loyalty, for whatever reason, so they made it so that you wouldn't have any reason to not be completely loyal to your guild.
Personally, I have no problem with this particular aspect of the game. I would want everyone in my guild to be completely focused on our guild and to not have any distractions to get in our way. If you want a character in my guild then you should be willing to have all of your characters in my guild. Besides, it's not the character that I invite, well technically it is, but instead it's the individual that I want. Therefore, it shouldn't matter which character they are playing at any given time. If they log on and are in my guild then that's where they should be regardless of which character that they log on with.
My opinion may seem harsh to some but over the years I have seen too many problems caused with our DAoC guild (and alliance) because members would play other character in other guilds. It never seemed to work to our guilds advantage so this just seems like the best option.

If the guild system is not tied to an account, it could cause issues with loyalty, plants and other things when the Guild vs. Guild competition heats up.
YOu could know the tactics of one guild, and fight against them in another guild and make sure they loose or you win by being able to work against them.
This is the apparent main reasoning. If you join a guild it's for your account, not the character.
