I've found a couple of areas scattered around that were huge and complex, and yet completely empty, having seemingly no purpose.

Best example is just outside of Fort Ranik in presear. Go south out of Ranik, then hang a right. You'll end up fighting off some Skales, and if you stick to the right side, you'll notice a little crevice in the wall behind some bushes.. if you walk through there, you come into a fairly large hidden area. No items, no characters, no enemies, and it's a dead end. But it's pretty neat.. some building ruins, some swampy water, and just a very relaxing place to hang out.

Anyone been here? I'll post up some screenies of it tonight after work.

I know of this place! I found it when I was taking my first character through pre-searing. It was peaceful AND creepy at the same time.

After crossing into post searing I went back to that general direction hoping to see if I could get back into it. Sadly, it was now closed off. I always wondered if perhaps that may have been an exit from the catecombs that seem to run all under the presearing map.

My other cool place post searing was an oasis in prophets path. None of the monsters came down into it. It was a great place to just enjoy the beautiful artwork and take a break.

So few areas in post searing let you do that.

Yeah I've been in that area, got stuck behind Gwen and a rock and couldn't leave, heh. I like the idea that it could've been an entrance/exit to the Catacombs.

There needs to be an option "kill Gwen". She respawns at the nearest resurrection shrine and comes running back, but she's out of your way long enough to get out of somewhere.

I'd be happy if we could just walk through Gwen! Hell, i've been trapped against the edge of a river, halfway between a wall and a rock, etc, because she wont move her ass.

I know that sometimes she'll walk away on her own eventually, but not always.

Anyone else find any neat hidden areas?

I found another one in regent valley.. nothing nearly as huge as the first.. just a little hidden cave with a water fall in it. Just past master ranger nente, there's a natural bridge over the road. Go under it, and stick to the right.. you'll loop down to a little cave with a waterfall, and some skale.

There's a place in presear that' s NW of Barradin's Estate. Follow the "wall" and you'll eventually get to a hole in the wall, go through it and there's this very beautiful cave scene with pools of water and sun shining through holes in the roof and a few stone elementals. It's a nice area to hang out probably not so much secret as out of the way.

there is a section of the wilds that does have monsters, have yet to see an chests, but it was quite empty and came to a dead end, i believe it is below and to the left of bloodstone fen, it's a nice area also but there are some enemys.

It's not so much of a hidden area as an unused zone, much like dragon's gullet, past Althea's Ashes mission.

I would say there are a ton of unused areas that are open. After all, they've just started expanding the universe.

dragon's gullet is used in the Titan Source mission, given by the Glint statue after you have completed the 4 previous titan quests (Defend Droknars, Defend Denravi, Defend North Kryta, Last Day Dawns)
