Is this exceptionally unlucky?

Ive played and finnished the game with all 4 character slots, pretty much have every elite for each char (main and secondary). Also have many elites from each secondary with each char. Have about 5 mil xp between all my chars. Over 750 hours playing since release. Hmm dont know what else, but regardless, ive played a lot. Through this time I have never unlocked a single sup vig or abs runes. Is that normal or just bad luck?

umm... doesn't sound too unlucky... i've never found a sup vig or sup abs myself... i unlocked both with faction...

I don't know if its unlucky.
Do you farm?
If you don't farm, I suppose the chances are lower.
I finally managed to unlock a superior absorption after 650 hours of game time, 450 of which were on my warrior - my farmer, of which probably 300 hours was time spent farming.
I did manage like 3 superior vigors though.

Offtopic:
I've gotten more black dyes than I've gotten green dyes.
I picked up around 8-9 black dyes and like 2 green dyes.

I dont really farm at all. Ive just recently unlocked them with faction cause i started playing pvp. But since all my cars are pve, its useless.

950+ hours. Less than 10 superior runes.

I don't farm...

Honestly the only time I ever got runes worth selling was when I outright farmed them. I don't think it's abnormal to get extremely low droprates on the good items, as casual players don't get as high a rune per time rate as strict farmers do

I've played 925 hours across about five characters now, two of which have beaten the game and the third is in the Ring of Fire, and the only superior rune I've found was a superior expertise. The armor drop it was on was worth about 20 times more at the merchant than the rune itself was worth at the trader.

Seems like you pretty much have to solo farm if you want to find any decent superiors.

I may not have the "Time" most others do and the game, and I only have 2 char slots filled, but granted, I'm on the game ALOT. I've never myself unlocked a sup vig or abs..but I HAVE found a Sup Divine Favor rune, which wasn't too bad. My guess it's probably more common drop somewhere else unless the loot table is random, in which case you may never ever happen upon it.

I think they come in cycles. I dont know if the cycle is world based or map based or player based. Others in my guild have good nights when i come up dry, then it shifts and drops get good for a while. For example last night I had not seen a superior rune in weeks, then 4 dropped for me in 24 hours, 3 of the 4 were more or less useless. In the entire game I have found 1 superior vigor and 1 superior absorption. I am on a lot. It also depends on where you go, some areas have lots of rune drops, some none. The Riverside mission is a good place to try for superiors at low battle cost, although it is slow and can be difficult to farm. Don't look in the lower level areas, superiors are not there.
