Those who have R/Me, how do you eevenly distribute your points (given that your focus on marksman)? And what skills from Mesmer are beneficial for the Ranger in both solo and Pvp situations.

I will only put enough into Marksmanship to meet the req for the bow I'm using. Expertise gets the most points, then Wilderness. I am not big on the beastmaster build, but I am willing to give that deal a shot (hehe) someday.
I have a PvP R/Me build which employs Distortion (mesmer stance) and nothing else. You don't need any points in Inspiration for it to be useful.
Something I have been wanting to perfect, is a Frag Ranger build. Now, I am not bothering to look in Search at the moment, but you might find something of interest. Fragility (mesmer skill) causes extra damage to a foe every time they suffer OR recover from a condition. As a Ranger, you are adept at causing conditions. With all the traps, Hunter's Shot, Melandru's Arrows, Poison Arrow, Apply Poison, Throw Dirt, etc, etc, etc, well, I think you get the idea.

Just a minor point, Distortion is an Illusion stance, not Inspiration. I'm sure it was an oversight.
My ranger has an 11-10-10 setup for his attributes in Marksmanship, Expertise, and Wilderness Survival. I switch his 2nd profession often, and often it becomes Mesmer. One of the things I love to do with a Mesmer 2nd prof is to use the elite Echo and combine it with Debilitating Shot and Serpent's Quickness for a great energy denial combo. I know a lot of rangers out there use Mantra of Resolve and traps to do some point blank trapping that can't be interrupted. Fragility is a pretty cool hex to combine with a ranger's adeptness with condition-ing, like Sofonisba said, as well as Epidemic (despite its high energy cost) and the elite Fevered Dreams. I don't play around with many of the Mesmer Illusion hexes though, usually sticking to pure Ranger builds. One really cool thing to do if you want to become an interrupter, though, is to allocate points to Expertise, Marksmanship, and Illusion and use Arcane Conundrum or the elite Migraine. With one of those, interrupting becomes a cakewalk. It's hard to incorporate more than 1 or 2 Mesmer skills into a Ranger build, though, since Rangers don't have the energy pool or regen when wielding a bow to keep up with the cost of many Mesmer skills, which is why I usually don't put *too* many points into Mesmer attributes... if I do, it's usually only for one skill, and I'd be better served by more damage (Marksmanship) or lower skill costs (Expertise). And maybe also the types of armor, weps, etc ranger should look for.Armor should probably be Druid's, unless you plan on using one or both of the nature rituals Greater Conflagration and Winter. Unless you use those on a regular basis, the other armors are too situational. Druid's set gives you extra energy, regardless of the situation, which is why you will see many rangers using it. Start saving those tanned hides and wood planks!
Skills that work well together I've all ready mentioned. Mantra of Resolve works well with traps; Arcane Conundrum or Migraine with interrupts; Fragility, Epidemic, or Fevered Dreams with condition-causing skills.
Unless you use a lot of Expertise-linked skills, your level of Expertise should be set according to what the majority of your skills cost, meaning you should bring Expertise high enough to achieve the desired breakpoint for your skill costs. My ranger uses 14 Expertise because that is the breakpoint for 10 energy skills being reduced to 4 energy. I like to keep my Marksmanship as close to 12 as possible, since 12 in that attribute will allow you to do full damage to armor level 60 targets. Other attribute levels depend on the skills you use. Play around with things, see what you like, and set your attributes accordingly.
