Echo Nuker

When I go to warcamp I always see groups looking for an echo nuker, I was wondering if anyone knew what one was? Or the difference between it and a regular nuker if there is any.

and echo nuker is a e/me that uses the mesmer skill echo or arcane echo. it mimicks the next skill you cast, making you able to cast two powerful AoE spells in a row. another variation that works just as well is an e/(whatever you like), that uses the elite skill glyph of renewal. it instantly rehcarges the next skill you cast. thats what i use for my echo nuker.

echo is a mesmer skill which let you use 2 skills at the same time for 20 seconds, so you can use 2 meteor shower or 2 fire storm at the same time

the glyph of renewal might act as an echo but once u use that spell again u r still wasting the same amount of energy again. so it lacks effectiveness in that department.

The only difference between echo and Glyph of Renewal is that echo takes 15 seconds longer to recharge and is an enchantment.

With Glyph of Renewal I can: cast glyph, meteor shower, meteor shower, glyph, fire storm, fire storm, glyph, meteor shower, meteor shower, etc.... (perhaps a slight time between fire storm #2 and glyph #3 where I use to recast fire attune)

with Echo its: echo, MS, MS, FS, wait.... or
echo, MS, MS, wait echo FS FS, wait, echo, MS, MS.....

Glyph of Renewal is much more efficient. And I dont have to worry about any enchant strippers stripping me while casting MS.

Glyph, meteor shower, archane, meteor shower, meteor shower, glyph, firestorm, firestorm.

Yes that works if you really really need that extra meteor shower at the beginning, but usually by the time you are done with fire storm, both glyph and meteor shower are ready to go again. If it isnt then I recast fire attune and then it will be ready.

And you wont need a Me secondary. And arcane echo is another enchant that can be stripped and takes 2 seconds to cast so you could possibly be interupted.

would like to make a point that glyph of renewal is better for spells with 10 seconds or greater recast time where as echo is better for spells with less than 10 and of course skills.

p.s. recast includes the casting time of the spell also because if echo ends while the spell is casting its cancled.

Which profession can use glyph of renewal?

Elementalist, and it's not linked with any attribute, so any profession subbing E can also use it to its fullest

yes, and as my secondary i chose monk, so i can be an echo nuker and decently keep myself alive. glyph of renewal ftw!

If you're a Glyph user, you ain't an Echo Nuker, haha XD But yeah, I like using glyph instead of echo as well, because I can use it on any spell I want due to it's quick recharge. Sometimes you really don't need two huge nukeys in a row.. maybe you want to double inferno, or phoenix, or incendiary bonds. Quite useful, and you're not too limited to using it on one huge nuke, IMO. A friend says echo gives you 3 nukes in a row... but sometimes if you have another nuker in your group, 3 is really an overkill, especially on the energy.

What I like to do is this:

Cast Glyph of Renewal > Meteor Shower
Wait for Glyph to recharge, lose some exhaustion > Cast Fireball/Incendiary Bonds/Some non-exhausting spell(s) in between
Glyph of Renewal when it recharges > Meteor Shower again, if I even really need it. Then I could have casted 4 copies of meteor shower! =)

Sometimes I like to glyph fire attunement before going into battle, in case I get stripped :P

that was sarcasm right? getting kicked out of a group that is looking for an echo nuker because im not a mesmer secondary angers me. and they're missing out...cause imho..GLYPH is so much better than ECHO/ARCANE ECHO. meh.

yeah I don't bother telling the non-ele ingrates (or really anyone) who think they know all the classes, without playing them all, what is best.

People like that irritate me too, but there are sooo many. The game has more than 3 classes you know. Guess what, a Necro with arcane echo and spiteful can be a kick ass damage dealer as well!

And how do you run out of energy with glyph? You can know you can use attunements with glyphs, do you?

With Arcane Echo, Echo, Arcane Mimcry, a couple of Nukers could cast their skill four times each; ain't that simply a sexy idea to imagine?
