When to use Expert Salvage Kit?

OK, I've reached Yak's Bend and have Expert Salvage Kits available to me. My question is, when is it worth using them over normal kits?

For the sake of salvage items and worthless white weapons/armor, it seems like the best thing is just to take a normal salvage kit and use it to keep them from cluttering up your inventory. Of course, charr hides can give fur squares with an expert kit, but are there any other items that can give rare crafting items?

In the case of blue items, I usually use a normal kit, as they don't seem to give anything better with an expert kit than white items. The exceptions are highly salvagable items, which seem to mostly give rares, and items "of X" which give upgrade components. Of course, I usually just sell precious items if their stats aren't good.

Purple and yellow items should be salvaged with an expert kit as they can give runes. Is this correct, or do only yellow items give runes?

Please let me know if I have it right or if you disagree with this.

It is definatly worth buying it.

It can salvage some really usefull materials, wich a normal salvage kit cannot.

I don't really know what you meen when you ask "when" to use them.

If I understand you correctly, It is best to use it when you find a salvagable item, that is titled salvage item, or highly salvagable.

It is also good to use on items if your backpack is getting full.

If you have the gold, just use the Expert ones for all salvage.
If not, just use the standard one. Thats what i do.

Use the expert ones on highly salvagable items, and anything colored.
