Full game CD necessary??

Sorry if this has been covered, but I had the preorder CD, and did 48 hour play, and just now FINALLY got the full game box... will I ever even USE this CD, or do I just go to settings and update the client with my new number? (Like Steam for Half-Life etc.)?

Seems to be a waste to make CDs & booklets if all the stuff is off the servers anyway.

Well, there are two CDs worth of stuff, so it would take a while to download it all (for most people), hence the CDs. You don't need them tho if you're happy to stream the game along the way.

OH, so if I install, I'll get quicker/smoother gameplay or just the map-loading between location changes is faster??

Also, should I UNINSTALL my current pre-order client, THEN install this or install on TOP or what????

It may or may not be necessary, but in general it's best to uninstall the old version of a program before installing the new version.

You get quicker loading, cause you don't have to download the maps. What I did was insert the CD and it gave me an option to repair my client, which basically just updates it to the version on the CDs.

I just download the client and updates patch. Is there any errors on what I did? Im a Newbie.

But would I LOSE my character(s) or progress???

Everything is saved server-side.
