ive heard alot of people saying r/w are really good, and more specifically r/w hammers are really good. so... i tried one. heres the specs:

13 expertise
10 WS
12 hammer

irresistable blow
backbreaker
crushing blow
hammerbash
frenzy
lightning reflexes
stormchaser
resig

ok now this build really isnt that great. at least not as great as people keep saying r/w hammers should be. am i missing something? i basically tried to copy what a regular kd warrior would do, only theres no room for an aftershock type skill.

spending all that in WS just for storm chaser seems like a waste... but what else do i put it in?

any advice?

Here's the build I use.

Near 200 views and no flames. Must be decent enough...

Yeah, Devestating or Backbreaker works better IF you can hit.

But that is more of a build that uses a SERIOUS spam of IB to build adrenaline for the unblockable Earthshaker.

I would get a few points [3 + 1] into Beast Mastery and replace Frenzy with Tiger's Fury.

but... maybe. ill try it with tf, but i doubt there will be much of a difference...

Basically use tigers fury. It shouldn't hurt you too much. 5 seconds is not that big of a deal. Is this for 4vs4 or 8vs8? 4vs4 i would bring antidote sig and then. The main problem with R/W hammer is that you don't have the stonefists which are crucial. Without it your knockdowns are very inefective. Backbreaker is needed because of this. A 1.5 second knockdown isn't really doing much. You must keep tiger's fury on or close to on all the time to be the best you can be. Switch in some more energy skills if you have them because as a R/W you can spam them. The main problem with R/W's is that fact that without a 16 in your attribute you don't do much dmg.

Here's my build for CA:

12 Hammer
11+1 Expertise
8+4 Beast Mastery

Tiger's Fury
Irresistable Blow
Hammer Bash
Crushing Blow
Ferocious Strike
Call of Haste / Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
Res Sig

Basically you just keep Tiger's up, IB > HB > CB. FS whenever possible, CoH whenever possible, or Comfort to res pet. With FS, energy isnt an issue, so I just spam IB, FS and TF until I get enough adrenaline for HB > CB. I regulary hit for 60+ on casters, which is nothing special, but I like this build because it can last. Warrior's eventually lose all their energy, and can't keep their stances up. As long as my pet is alive, I can spam IB, FS and TF for quite some time.

my thumper (as i afectionately called him) used the disrupting pet skills (bestial pounce, lol, and disrupting lunge i think), so there's 3 skills. I think I used backbreaker, irresistable, TF, and that one that inflicts a deep wound for 5 mana if kd'd. And res sig of course.

With and emphasis on disruption instead of damage, the KD ranger actually becomes a better character, since if you wanted pure damage, there's no reason not to go primary war for strength.

just to be clear this is definetly for 8v8... ill try tf. i dont really like the idea of a pet... its kinda weird of you use a hammer with that.

and definetly without 16 hammer my damage is quite crappy, so i absoluetly need a way of keeping myself attacking 33% faster

oh well overall im disapointed in the build

As a R/W Hammer, damage isn't your priority; it's the knockdown and disruption. You'll find that spamming Irresistable Blow against Aegis and Guardian works quite well. IMO, R/W Hammer is best played alongside a W/X Axe Spiker.

im going to BURN my r/w now.

Also R/W requires you to spread out yourself a bit thin. Exp, Weapon att, Tigers fury, and wild. 4 attributes for only 2 real energy attacks is bad unless you use Crude swing. Exp I find is pretty useless for anything other than sword. For the most part.

Try my build, you may surprise yourself

Can drop the Charm Animal for Res Signet or Lightning Quickness like you prefer.
