Ok, I just decided to create this thread to help all of those who both have the game, and that don't have the game but are looking to see how well the game would run on their system....

Basically, you should post your system specifications, the resolution and settings at which the game is running at, and how well it runs for you!

(Oh and sorry if this is in the wrong section!)

Me:
AMD Athlon 2500+ (2ghz)
768MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO

Running at Maximum Quality (No AA/AF) at 1280x1024 resolution - Game runs extremely well, with very little slowdown, if any...

Good call

AMD Athlon 2400 XP (2ghz)
512 Mb Ram (althought my comp registers it as 480)
Built in GeForce 4 MX

Runs at Max Quality - well, but ground looses texture everyonce in a while, and I have to move settings slider
Mid Qualtiy - As above, but less often
Low Quality - Runs perfect

Woah.... pretty crazy how after all these years the Geforce4 MX can still power such games as Guild Wars... even with bloom effects and everything else!

Must be a really optimized game engine, as I think the graphics are absolutely gorgeous.

EDIT - Oh, and I think I know why your comp registers your RAM as 480 instead of 512MB.... your Geforce4 MX is probably integrated, so therefore the PC uses 32 megabytes of it's RAM in order to power the integrated video card. I believe you can change how much video memory is used up by the RAM by going into the BIOS... not sure how much of a difference it would make, though. Probably wouldn't be very noticable.

Haha, nah, don't worry about that... even with my 9800 PRO I find that AA and AF are just a waste of performance for slightly improved visual quality.

I mean, what would you rather prefer? Jagged lines and great performance, or straight lines and greatly reduced performance (most of the time)?

As for me, I think I'll stick with the jaggies.

Wow... if it runs that well with 4xAA and AF, then I might have to turn it up a notch. It must look pretty wonderful at those settings...

Oh, and to change AA/AF preferences, go into your ATI control panel, and you should be able to tweak most things by clicking the "3d" tab and just going from there. (I think it's the 3d tab... correct me if I'm wrong)

I play at One notch below middle on detail slider, however I can slide it up to one notch below highest and still play fine.

GW runs great on my PC, and it looks fine. I do look to upgrade my vid. card to probably an ATI 9550 or a 9600se to gain DX9 capabilities but GW plays FINE and looks FINE on a GeForce MX 4 440. I've been in PC hardware for over 12 years and I grow a bit tired of people claiming you NEED a NV 6600 GT at least or an ATI 9800 to play GW... it is an online RPG that streams a lot of it's content for goodness sake if the textures were so big as to take advantage of those cards we would all need T1 lines.

A64 3000+ / AXP 2.4Ghz (~3550+)
M9600 / 9700PRO
1GB RAM / 1.5GB RAM
1280x800 / 1680x1050

Both systems run the game pretty well, but the 9700PRO is a bit quicker even at the higher res. AA is off on the 9600 but 2X on the 9700 due to the extra headroom.

AF is set to app pref in 3D settings. You all should probably just load up your ATI control panel and go to 3D and make sure it's set to default. Anisotropic Filtering didn't make a noticeable improvement for me but you better believe even if you can't see it, if you force it on it's gonna drain performance.

The game has its own Antialiasing controls so I'd use those instead of the control panel too.

Yeah, I knew about it being allocated to something else, in my case my vid card, but I still figured it would have shown up on the speccies.

Anyway, might I make the suggestion of keeping this thread simple, as the first two posts are? So that people could use it as a quick referance guide.
