ArenaNet want $$$, I want char slots and storage!

4 characters and a 16-slot cross-character storage? Skimpy stuff.

ArenaNet, I know you want my cash. And believe it or not, I am more than willing to give it to you. I bought the CE for the sole purpose of blowing more cash on this game, in the hopes that some of it found its way to you.

However, there is one small thing I would like in return. More space. Those 4 character slots and that chest of storage... well, it just isn't a lot of space, is it? And no, I won't just buy another account. that would just be another 4 useless char slots with no skills on them and no way to transfer goods from one char to another.

Can't you give me some more ways to pay you some more cash? Did you hear that??? ArenaNet, you have a customer asking for ways TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON YOU. Wow! Just mention that idea for your CEO and I'm sure he'll be whipping all the dev crew to get this stuff implemented within a week! And you'll get a bonus, you lucky guy that picked up this post and told him about it!

After all, GW is a great game, and it's also dirt cheap. Too cheap. I got an overflowing MMO budget here, and I don't know what to do with it. Help me out, will ya? All the other games are boring grinds, and instead of paying $15 a month, you should give me a good reason to pay you some more cash instead.

Just off the top of my head:
Additional characters: $10 per slot.
Additional storage space: $10 per 4 slots.
A fancy-schmancy interface to punch my CC number in: priceless.

It's nothing that will make me more powerful, nor give me any advantage in the game whatsoever. I'll just have to worry less, never vendor any items I might use, and I can finally give you some more money.

Great Game, now just let me blow some more cash and not worry about running out of storange or not being able to make that other PvP char without deleting a PvE thing in the middle of a campaign.

so long as the price is one time, and its not renting the space/character slots permonth, thats ok for the hardcore players, but blows for those of us that cant play all day...
(and make sure you can go into a gameshop and buy them as little scratchcards, cause i dont have a creditcard, and cant get one)

But I think they will add more slots in chapter 2... especially because there will be new classes.

Well, say we get 3 new classes and only 2 new slots, I'll have just the same problem I'm having now.

Or at least we should be able to merge account so we could share skills across them. I could easily buy another account, but there is no way I can spare the time needed to unlock the skills in that account.

I'm just surprised ArenaNet haven't made something like this already. Should be very easy money for them, and so much less work than an expansion pack.

Yes. There is Chapter2 coming with potentially whopping one (1) char slot, or maybe even two (2) slots. It is not a solution, as we already have 6 professions, and only 4 slots. Adding in two still leaves out two profs, and no room for PvP-char.

I know that this isn't a problem for everyone, but even more so for some. Unlocking stuff again is just stupid for second account, and inability to log in the two accounts at the same time on same computer (without poking EULA in a evil way).

Make extra char slots buyable, it doesn't need a max limit imo, how does it unbalance the game that you have 16 chars on one account? You can play only one of them at the time anyways...

Shouldn't be a very difficult upgrade, just add a droplist of chars for people with purchased extra slots, or add little arrows left/right that make the chars run around a bit, bringing out the hidden ones.

We was discussing the upcoming Factions expansion and how many copies/accounts we might purchase when Wife actually mentioned to me a 5th PC , I looked at my butt and wondered where was this money supposed to come from.

But hold your horses. Chapter 2 is still undefined how many slots you will get extra. It was rumored to be only 1, but the last screens of LA talk with Gaile show it still needs decision.

I'd say two at max, and that's not enough for meeee. I wanna buy more slots, why won't anyone take my money :'(

Well according to what I've read Factions is supposed to be a stand alone game in itself.

So...I say character slots should be dependant on how much Anet plans/sets for a retail price...If they plan on charging $50 for Factions then it darn well better have @ least 4 character slots just as chapter one , if they plan on charging $25(half of Chapter 1 retail) then it should have @ least 2 character slots. $20 or less to buy Factions, then I can see 1 character slot(not that'd I'd be happy about it , minimum should be 2 IMO), $25 - $49.99 we should get 4 character slots in this price range.

reading my own post hurt my head so I simplified it:

$1 to $19.99 = 1 character slot(not that'd I'd be happy about it, minimum should be 2 IMO)
$20 to $24.99 = 2 characters slots minimum
$25 to $50+ = 4 character slots(especially the closer to $50)

The reason for less vault slots is to prevent hoarding. Much in GW's is about "decision making", do I keep this item and try to sell to a player later on or do I sell it to a merchant opening up my inventory for these 250 candy canes I got. Decisions Decisions.

Preventing hoarding pushes flow of items and resources back into the game instead of your vault in the hopes you can make more money off of it later on. It's an economy issue. Plus it's also a data base issue and data base storage costs money and while the OP may be willing to pay out more money for more vault slots and more character slots, the overall majority might not (I wouldn't in this case), thus, it wouldn't be fair as a "whole" to the rest of the community.

GW's I'm seeing is more of a socialist type game. Everything and everyone must conform and WILL have access to "easy equality" of everyone else. Thus it is a socialistic game world. Notice how easy it is to get to Droknars armor? Which is equal to Grotto/Citidel and Fissure armor? Notice how easy it is to obtain +15% weapons of all types and +12 Energy focus items of all types? Notice how everyone can buy all their skills at one place? Notice how's there's really no need to adventure whatsoever, you can just hop on one of the trains (player runners) at many of the points in the game that will take you anywhere you want to go and only farming for a little bit of gold is necessary to get a few of the things you may want (like upgrades on your collectors weapon or runes for your droknars armor). Collectors will give you the rest. If you're really savy the collectors will even give you droknars type armor, and you can save that 1500gp per item plus resources.

This is what I have come to notice about GW's. It's too easy overall. To much is given easily from collectors gear to collectors weapons. I'm surprised there's even an economy at all and really it only exists for the impatient ones because everything can be had easily by any player given the time.

With the runners present I don't see the damage done to the economy. The runners earn gigantic amounts of money without it really being a part of the designed game. For me that part is more unfair then any stocking that could happen. If they really want people to inject money in the economy they should prevent people bypassing areas where they would otherwise have spend more money.

Now I don't want to blame the runners because if they want to play the game like this and enjoy it, heck I'm happy for them. I don't like it though and I'm playing the whole game with my 4th char again. But I can't help thinking that running is kinda unfair for me, I do need to buy new armor and I have to get items I can make money with. The runners are not interested in farming I guess, they earn with running. That's why, since the economy is broke anyway, that I would appreciate more storage space.

Although I understand that many ppl with 2nd and up chars don't really want to do all missions all over, I can't understand that if you run to Droknars by paying someone else who does all the work for you that you have an advantage over people who choose not to run.

Most simple solution; Droknar's Armor only for lvl20's. Like someone else said; it will still keep the runners alive (plenty of other parts to run) but it wouldn't put such an unfair advantage over the straight path :P. Maybe even put in some other short cuts. This way you can still go fast threw the world, it would cause more money spending, i't wouldn't cause unfair armor advantages (at least minimize it) and runners could still make profits, all happy I guess.

I agree with the whole "charge for more account space" idea.
But still, how many will be enough for people. Some want 8, others think having less or even more than that will be enough.
What will prevent those with money from buying 100 account spaces and hoarding all that they collect? Especially if they are farmers that sell thier stuff on ebay.
The balance would be more storage space for an account plus adding at least one per new expansion in addition to having an option to buy more account space for more charachters up to a per set number (lets say 8).

Do you really believe everything Gaile or an Anet representative says? lol I don't. I'd bet nickels to dollars it's set in stone right now, they just aren't telling us because if people KNEW there was only going to be 1 slot or 2 they wouldn't preorder or buy the game.

Why should we pay our own money for it? Because we are desperate for it, which is really sad. We are soo desperate for more storage, and they have not given it to us for so long, that we are willing to pay money for it.

Like most other MMO's, I think we should be able to upgrade in game with in game gold. Make it cost a ridiculously huge amount of money to do, but I don't want to have to pay for something that should come in an update, or that other FREE MMO's offer as an in game upgrade.
