Where do you get gold items? good ones

all i had been doing was kill hydras, for that much work, all i got were some hundred gold coins and a blue scimitar.

i did this for like half the day and thought it was useless.

so can anyone tell me where to get gold items so i could sell them, or maybe use them?

most of the good gold items ive ever gotten was from trade, i suspect the place others find it is from hoh chests

kill dragons lair, they drop good item

Rule 1: Dont Farm with Henches, they steal all the good crap.
Rule 2: Most people farm areas that are filled with monsters of a higher level (but still below 20) and repeat that area over and over. Prophet's Path and the Griffons there tend to be popular.
Rule 3: Farming takes more than half a day, and usually takes a good week to get even a handful of good items. Sometimes you have good days. Most of the time you dont.

I farm in wizards folly :P.

I got a couple of my best gold items, in one trip, with henches, doing the Forgotten Wisdom attribute points quest.

Also Sorrow's Furnace/Grenth's Footprint - it was a purple cane, not gold (oh no!), but one of the best things I have ever found.

Sand giants aren't bad...if you like hammers. Funny thing is I had the most number of golds ever in a run just the other night outside of Lion's Arch:

Was killing fire imps for charcoal (damn Deldrimore steel) and a key dropped. Naturally I had to go off and find a chest after the imps were all dead, so I ended up wandering up to the Ascalon Outpost. The birds annoy me so I just dodged through them; the ettins, however, were in my way. So I killed all of them (probably only 8 total) and got a whopping 4 gold and 1 purple ettin paltrons(sp?).

I seem to get alot of great drops in Snake Dance. I got an almost perfect Fire wand yesterday

1.) Yup...Farm alone
2.) Griffons are level 24 and are great to farm.
3.) I farm that whole area till all Griffons and Minataurs are gone. I can do it in under 30min and get back about $3-4k after each run.

I usually get at least 1-2 gold items on top of purple and blue, and bring keys for the possibility of more. Chests up by the Southern shiverpeak tends to drop more gold items though.

If all your looking for is good weapons though, go to War camp and farm for green (perfect) items in a small group of 5-6.

Missions can get you cool items too sometimes, but sometimes others get them

Btw... henchies get the better items? O_o I never saw them picking up items or something x_x

henchies have the same chance to get item drops as other players, its just that in an occassion an item drops and is reserved for a hench, it dosnt drop at all

Well, yeah, because every drop will be for you. If you have 1 other person you have a 50% chance, 2 others 33%, etc.

Sometimes it's better to farm with others because even though the drop chance is lower, you can kill more in less time and therefore max your drops moreso than if you were by yourself. Just assess the situation and see how hard it is for you to solo. Soloing minotaur with a W/Mo or Smite Mo is better than grouping, but grouping would be better in southern shiverpeaks or ring of fire areas if it's gonna take you forever to kill enemies.

Plus you get all the gold. If you go with 8 and get 100gp drop, you only get 12gp! If you go in a smaller group or by yourself, you get a lot more gold, a lot sooner and every drop goes to you.

All you have to do is get a blue max collectors item or buy one from Forge. I bought the War Hammer in Df for 5k. I added 10/10 sund and +30 frt. It is now a way better Hammer that I got in like 5 mins. than farmin for days. I also did the same for my ele. Traded to get the blue max fire staff 20/20 and added +20% ench and +29 fort. Cost me about 15k for mods.
I guess if you just have to have a Gold then your going to be paying alot more and taking more time to do so.
Of course if your just lookin to sell and salvage golds then you will have to farm. Good luck! I have had no luck in Farmin Griffins now a days. Used to get mad drops all max. Not anymore! Oh well!
