look guardian =5 energy= 50% block 5 secs
aegis=15 energy= 50% block 11 secs
Sheild or deflection =10energy 75% block 6 secs and a little bit of extra armor 24
What a waste of a prot elite plz nerf it back to what it used to be or at least to 10 secs
no way 10 energy is worth anything for 6 secs
sheild of deflection not qorth being a elite anymore LIKE 6 SECS!! WHATS THE POINT!!

Well, I still use it when Im being BiPed. Your a prot monk, get a +20% enchant mod on a staff..... that makes it 7s for a start.
I still actually find it very useful. 24al on a monk is quite a lot.... stack it with watch yourself and have 114al
What your actually paying 10e for is a brief period of more of less invunerability from warriors and rangers. Aegis and Guardian dont make you invunerable, just slightly tougher.... 50% is alright.... 75% indefinately is amazing.
And look at the cooldown. If it was nonelite they'd nerf the cooldown.... which is the best bit.

OMG great idea :-). I was just about to say it. 6-7 seconds i mean cmon it just sucks soo bad now. With 15 prot it lasted 11-12 secs and with a 20% enchant staff it was STILL O.K. at best. The energy cost made it just suck. All I gotta say is if Anet tried to boost this skill they did it really badly >.<. It wasn't even a fotm or anything at all yet

Old shield of deflection: 13s duration for 15e., 2s. cast time.
Old SoD duration/cost: .87s/e
New shield of deflection: 7s duration for 10e., 1s. cast time.
New SoD duration/cost: .7s/e
Slightly increased cost, but more spammability (meaning more powerful when faced with heavy enchantment removal on important allies), lower cast time, and therefore more divine favor healing per energy spent.
I'd say they actually buffed it. It's now somewhat of a clutch spell, giving you the ability to neutralize warriors/rangers focusing on someone within 1s of cast. 7seconds is enough to discourage warriors/rangers, anyways. The previous SoD was a bit of a waste; 15e and 2s cast time and people would just switch targets or remove it.

If anything, it's better now than it was before. i dont see how else you could prevent the rangers from distracting the ghostly (before the update)
although post update, what with the punishing shot spike kind of dead im not sure you need it that badly, everyones using rangers for traps nowrdays
gotta say tho, all you see in tombs is either IWAY teams or some kind of weirdo trapper/spike group.

I dont think their is another slightly spammable prot skill in the prot line up, that it not an enchan except for shield of Deflection.
Mark of Protection may be a better skill but it has a 45 sec recharge. Plus once a good team sees there going against MoP theyll switch targets.
Shield of regeneration is healing breeze + armor, with 20 sec recharge. Not exactly a good skill at the moment.
restore condition - a spammable condition removal that works rly well against a team using conditions. If u want to make a condition/hex with some prot monk in them a great skill, otherwise i think SoD beats this skill as well.
amity - a very nice skill that using high prot can work pretty well, except for the exception of AoE damage destroying it all. In a good spike team who only hits one target at a time, I love it. Except for the fact that it only works against rangers/warrior and the wand damage. Good skill against the ranger spike teams. Id still put SoD ahead of it in many teams if they use some sort of AoE.
So looking at all the prot skills its still probally the best one in just about every circumstance in my opinion.

but the point is if you play a prot monk you dont *have* to run a prot attribute elite, i mean you can use spellbreaker just as an example.
anyway just saying

note i said not counting enchans in the beginning of my post. Id also rather use restore codnition then martyr in my personal opinion.
Also i was just noting how SoD is the prob the best elite skill in prot line up. Although spell breaker is another one of those once they discover your using it they switch targets if they know what there doing. Plus if your a prot monk and that against SoD that u want to use Spell breaker(why...?). I mean mark of prot = all damage is negated into health, instead of just blocking spells from opponent.
