How do I find a decent group!? (pvp)

I find myself playing the random arena far more than I care to. I truly enjoy pvp, but can't stand putting together groups for TA or Tombs. Spend 20 minutes getting a decent seeming group (as far as classes go) only to have people drop mid fight, say they have to go after a couple rounds, or what not. Tombs is even worse...today I had people putting together groups with 4 warriors and one monk (I didn't stick around for that, but wish I could have fought them).

How do ya all go about finding decent, reliable people to pvp with? I'd love to get some fame and rank, but with the less than savory pugs I'm finding I don't see this happening anytime soon. I feel my warrior is pretty well put together at this point (unlocked all the runes/gear/skills I need), and I'm completely frustrated that I can't really see how well I fare due to the poor groups that I'm getting. When half the group is dead in 1 minute, that's not a lot of time to base my determinations of my own skills and weak areas.

Help? Suggestions? Please?

Well, It is hard to get a good group in tombs if you and your guildmates dont get together.

Sorry

Guild it up, my friend. I rarely run with PUGs that include folks I don't know. I occasionally prot for some fellows I met from Storm Haven or my guild leader and I heal and prot for folks on his friends list. Other than that it is guildmates.

Not all guilds are PvP heavy. Mine has about 50 members and still we don't have a Tombs team because we have no 8 people willing to join it. We got 3 or 4 people doing Tombs but they obviously have to rely on PUGs to do Tombs. And no, leaving guild is not an option because we're great friends...

IMHO, the hassle of finding a Tombs team is THE major PvP hassle now that faction got fixed. I really would like to see some automatic matchmaking mechanism that would be able to match people with similar rank into a balanced class team. This wouldn't be ideal of course, but still way better then having to yell LFG for 2 hours in Tombs...

That's why I am in a PvP guild. The friends list is where I put my friends. And if anything happened to my current guild, I'd look for another PvP guild to join.

If you want to be 100% sure of a decent group you have to go with guildies. If your guild isn't heavy into the PvP aspect of the game, find a new guild. That's why there is a friends list. Add all the folks you want to keep in contact with and join a PvP guild. Or, on the opposite side, stay in your current guild and look for a good PvP guild that will allow you to join their battles and simply add them to your friends list.

The short answer is: a good PUG for Tombs is as rare as a solo mesmer build. I'm sure they exist but don't expect to find one easily.

Try to get into someone´s friendlist. I don´t think that to begin organizing group is good idea. You will gain more experience when you watch some leader. After that you can start with organizing.

Fantus :
As it has been written, be a little selfish, join guild that suits you. You want to play PvP, join guild that does. The game is about your fun, you don´t have to stay where you won´t have fun. You can stay friends even after that. If your current guildmates won´t train with you, you and your guild will hardly become competitive.

Our guild only has about 5 members and 4 are RL friends.. we need to recruit more but even that is hard w/o sounding egotistical. We just help each other out and have fun.. PvE mostly but we'd like to venture more into PvP. I don't know. It's a challenge nonetheless
