Okay, I dled the 10 hour Trial of Guild Wars. I've never played a better game ever. I'm buying it on Saturday because I just want to keep on playing!!!
I started as a R/Mo and I think the two professions compliment each other perfectly. I usually find myself being in the tank, because early on I was only in 1 group for Pre-Searing (Took me about 5 minutes. My group experience was short-lived), so I pretty much tanked for my henchies. Alisia... what a godsend. Saved our lives countless times.
I was wondering, when I get the full version, can I still logon with my old account, because I'd hate to see my hard-worked Ranger gone forever.
Just started. Best game I've ever played.

| Your account can be linked to one or more CD keys. When I bought GW, I was still able to use my old beta account (My chars were gone... But their names were still there!), so yes, you can keep that character provided you update your account with your GW CD key once you purchase it. |
Maybe I'll understand when I get it...

I have to say that Guild Wars is the game to play. I started with Guild Wars when it first came out and played it non stop. By then the whole WoW vs. GW conversations started with my friends, so we made a bet. They would try GW for a month and I would try out WoW. I must admit that I was addicted to WoW, at first... After about 3 weeks though I found myself wanting to head to the Tombs and take on someone who would actually pose a challenge. So here I am to attest to the way GW's has called me back. Thank you A-net for one of the best games that I've ever played.

Have you been locked in a padded room the last twenty years, with only an Atari 2600 and E.T. to keep you company? |
I think the OP is in for one hell of a good time if pre-searing is the best game ever. ^^ It only gets better. Enjoy.

No, I haven't been locked in a padded room for the last twenty years :P
Pre-Searing is before the Cut-Scene where everything is green and lush, and Post-Searing is where everything is barren wasteland/desert-like... right?
interesting,
I usually spend about 8 hours in pre-searing, I basically mop up everything.. (and the 5 boss's behind that wall)
But most people do only seem to spend a few hours in pre-searing to begin with, then they are straight into searing..
Im wondering if 10 hours is enough?.. most demos and trials for games are like..7-14 DAYS free trial.
Maybe they are worried that people will complete the game in 14 days and then not have a reason to buy it. lol
