I've noticed the graphical icon for Ice is the exact same as the icon for Sapphires. I'm not sure if Ice can be traded, but anyone buying sapphires would be wise to double-check.

Where is ice found? I've never seen it.

That scam would only work if you were getting single sapphires, as ice can't be stacked. Chances are someone will try this though, possibly after reading this.
