you know what i hate? not anet, not GW, not ncsoft, definately not the update. i hate humanity. all of it. many individual people seem to be positive yet from a gloss over of this board you can see that humanity in general pervays the view of the least happy. people who like things as they are do not complain. about what would they complain?

after the update there have been about 20 or more threads saying basically that the update is crap, anet is crap, GW is crap and that they didn't remove the soul reaping focus so life is crap.

About Three have been positive.

Those 20 Threads have been begun by about 3 people. 3!!

Those threads have ther most posts. not because there is more to talk about but because people are willing to repeat themselves endlessly when complaining.

The General View Is That The Update Is Very Good. listen not to the whiners and griefers Anet. they do not represent the will of the people.

you do realize that this update was about 4 months in the making...it was repeatadly hidden behind bullshit promotions and crappy PR...AND they failed to address the points that everyone NEEDED them to address. The traders (of which I am not one...everything I don't use get's given away or sold to the merchant) NEEDED a trading area/auction house/town to trade in/whatever the hell arenanet wanted to do to get them out of the towns and outposts where people are trying to play the game....the PvP crowd NEEDED Ether Renewal to be fixed (it's incredible unbalanced)....there are a number of things (easy things...even if they were just temporary) that arenanet could have done to address a number of issues that the community had a problem with...and they simply didn't. Is this a good update...absolutely is. Is this a good update for the amount of time it took to create...probably not the greatest.

If you don't like the update people, simply click on "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and uninstall it. The slight lowering of server load for a free MMO would probably help Anet anyway.

People seem to have lost sight of the fact that GW is FREE TO PLAY!!! No monthly fees. Yet everyone still wants to do nothing but complain. Yeah the update was long overdue, but coding has bugs and last minute changes to make it even better. So as soon as i see all you complainers making a kick ass free to play online game, then shut up and stop playing the game. GW will be better without you.

have you any idea at all of the amount of work they have done?? Sorrows Furnace is massive. the environment is amazing. the content is huge.

are you saying that PvPX was crappy? pointless? i am sure i have seen you complain about the way they ignore PvPrs (and PvErs as well come to that) no one else at all complained about it.

the traders are using LA to trade in. do you think that the addition of a trade house will stop them spamming WTS in current areas? i sure don't. they need to attract people to their wares not wait for people to come looking.

you have seen that Ether renewal is on their 'to do' list. they told you personally in your 'i hate everything' thread. besides i have seen you complian that they always pander to the PvP crowd.

oh wait am i contradicting myself? no it is you i am drawing on the multiduous complaining posts you have written.

and 'problems that the community had a problem with'. as i said in my OP YOU and the 2 or 3 other whiners on these boards seem to think that YOU are the community. the trade house will not get rid of trade spam in the cities. it just won't because of sellers tactics. 99.999% of people who play this game say that the update was great. you only complain, complain that they didn't fix absolutely everything that you wanted fixed in one fell swoop.

This update was very impressive. because they HAVE been doing other things in game as well. there was the massive skill rebalance not long ago and constant bug fixes. you think that they have spent every hour at work 'screwing up' sorrows furnace?

YOU are not the majority. you are the smallest of minorities.

i'm sure that traders can fight their own battle for a trader outpost. if they want it. i will kindly ask you to stop putting words in peoples mouthes. you are not a trader? how can you know that they oh so despirately NEED an outpost to themselves? you can't. if you say that they told me so. i'm sure that they can tell me so too. in person. if its that important.

Please read this all the way through Algren. i don't want to repeat myself.

your reading comprehension is incredibly lacking...seems to be a common problem as of the last few years. Where did I say PvPX was crappy or mention at all that it sucked? I said it was a bullshit promotion to hide the fact that they weren't releasing the update behind a wall of bad PR....PvPX was a nice event, it's sole purpose was a facade....

My "I hate everything" thread pointed out 5 things...that's not exactly everything.

If you think the trading system works you are sorely wrong...it needs to be addressed. It should be top priority. If you were a seller/famer and had the option to put something into a storage area where people could view it and get back out and play rather than spending 3 hours in LA District 1 trying to sell your POS sword for too much money....wouldn't you do it? A new trading system WILL clean up the chat in towns and outposts....nobody enjoys spamming WTS, they just feel it's a necessity.

They do always pander to the PvP crowd....my complaints are specific to myself. There were things I noticed people asking for repeatadly...things that should have been top priority, that simply weren't. I could care less if Ether Renewal is fixed, in a PvE environment it doesn't work....but it's something that should have been top priority.

not to mention I've only started 1 thread in the last two weeks.......as I see it, your problem is that you have difficulty understanding what you read.

Didn't you already make this point in another thread? To which Alex has already stated that they are working on trading, etc.

well I think that the trading system can go on the back burner for now seeing as the need to farm has been nerfed :P

as far as the rest i agree with most of what you say (except for ER) which does not need to be fixed.

went to HoH 3 times last night and beat smiting teams repeatedly all night long.

Sadly it will get hijacked by the whiners though. But i'd also like to voice my opinion here. The update is great and the quests are a pleasant change. And i doubt they will get boring fast

You see in Ascalon or Kryta of wherever the quests are basically go there, fetch/kill this, come back or go there. Get Reward. WOOT.

Now we have quests like, go in... stop thinking and chase that damn dwarf through the whole of SF constantly cursing, yet laughing at the same time . The green items are perfect, and the improved chests are just alike.
This update just put oil into a working machinery. Was it needed? Maybe not yet. Did it improve? Hell yes it did, the whole machine is running a lot smoother now

Maybe we should ignore Algren Cole alltogether. That would cut the update whining down a lot. There is no need to discuss with a troll. It is clearly visible he is stirring up some fire here.

i admire your ability to read the minds of the devs.

if you don't hate everything then please point out what you like. other wise reading your posts may cause devs to commit suicide out of depression.

lol there are people who ONLY spam WTS and WTB. they will continue to spam in cities to get the very best deal.

i am a dedicated PvEr and to be quite honest i thought that they have given us much more than they needed to.

as i see it you have difficulty understanding what you play.

you bought the origional game. all the updates are free. totally free. you have no right to complain about the updates. you have not purchased them, you have lost nothing and so require no compensation.

end of conversation.

Hey, Charcoal Ann
Don't let him lure you into a flame festival. He is allready trying to make this thread another one of his whining threads and by the looks of it he is nearly done doing so.

I can't stand the cooperative section of Guild Wars. I think PvE is terminally boring, and about as challenging as making an omelette. Yet I'm having a blast in Sorrow's Furnace, and have actually failed a few of the quests, which is pretty much foreign to me. All said, an excellent update. It's just a shame the rest of the PvE game isn't this good.

A-net, NCSoft, I have not even taken time to experience the "FREE" update you published -- BTW, why free? Anyway, all I did was read the list of changes; In a word, impressive!

I am still of the opinion you ought to begin charging a fee and publish your updates at a cost. I look very much forward to experiencing the update in its' entirety this weekend.

Good job and I am impressed. Oh thank you for organizing the skills list, a benefit to me. Now I actually don't have to refer to Guru as often when wanting to review my skills.

Therei s nothing more for me to write so I will sign off this page.

I think that the problem is, that when some player sees that they missed something or they (oh god, how dare they are in their own game ) set their own priorities and update the game in the way they want he starts whining.
Anet listens the community and what it gets back ? Whinning that that particular request hasn´t been implemented. What if they weren´t listening at all ? What if there weren´t any promised updates ? Would you whine as well ? No, you wouldn´t because there would be nothing you can whine about.
So lets all be glad that ANet listens their players, offers regular and major updates and that all for free.

It's only because the happy players like myself have been out playing and drooling at the awesomeness of the scenery in SF ... they didn't have time to troll around the forums posting a whine in every thread .

The update is great, the areas are GORGEOUS and the quests funny ... Kiiiiilroyyyyyyyyyy Stonekiiiiiiiin!!!!! I went to explore SF with an 8 people guild group and everyone was laughing to tears on TS as we chased the mad dwarf through the Furnace.

The devs definitely have a sense of humor .

P.S. to all the whiners - there will always be something to complain about. always SOME issue that SOMEONE wants to change. No developing team can adress them all instantly, nor should they! They've said the auction house will come - so give them time to make it.

P.S.S. ''Humans are overrated!''
