Too Many Uber Items!

Since the release of the update, I have noticed that there are way too many maxed items/gold floating around. Due to the release of the new "green items", gold items have become pretty much worthless. Many players who currently possess gold weapons/items are greatly disappointed. I thought ArenaNet did an amazing job on the expansion. However, I think the neo "green items" should be reconsidered.

What's wrong with great items for everyone? I think it's absolutely FABU!

Are those green items updradables? and if yes how many upgrades can you put on them ?

Yeah... the only people complaining are the farmers who used to hock "UBER GODLY GOLD MAX DMG" stuff for insane prices. Now that they are more common, they can't make a killing selling overrated items to people willing to pay 50k more for a 5% improvement over a collector item. I got no problem with this at all.

The green items are so-called "uniques." You can't upgrade them nor can you salvage the mods.

I for one who have only gotten one gold drop in 300 hours say to the rest of you complaining that rare drop increases suck... that you in turn suck and just need to let the rest of us have some fun at last. This is awsome.

it's just another way of emphasizing skill, instead of time played and equipment. If everyone has great weapons, it will come down to builds and strategy, not gold and rare weapons. Or at least, that's my take on their strategy..... Can't wait to see it in action in the future weeks!!

AFAI can see they've caved to the pressure from the PvP crowd - it will be very easy to unlock weapons, and together with the new skill trader there's now basically an UAS. Not that the PvP crowd will be happy anyway.

I like pretty much everything else about the upgrade, but the absurd increase in ubergear making everything except some green items worth no more than the merchant is willing to pay is... not so good.

What ANet has actually done now, is put a very strong incentive in the game to play through the PvE as quickly as possible. And that was not what PvE needed, IMO. Hopefully it's at least a conscious decision that PvP is the core of Guild Wars, so they'll spend a lot of effort on the PvP now.

On the other hand I really can't see this as anything but a prelude to rising level caps and constantly rising ubergear, like in all other MMORPGs. Which is really not where I had hoped Guild Wars would go, but I seem to be in the minority there.

The apparent hostility to people soloing also worries me.

Ah, but perhaps I'm being hasty. I need to play more to say for sure.
