Yall turned off Sigs?

When and why did this happen?

When: About an hour ago
Why: It was removed to ease the load on this server as the forum soared in popularity. We are still +200 users above our normal average, so they are still off [as are some other little things].

Ok, any idea when they will truned back on?

When I deem it safe for the server. The current load is 4.5x the normal load [and at the 1800 user peak was 93x normal load].

So we wait.

INquirering minds want to know....

Because our servers got *hammered* earlier when the game was having problems. I mean, not just hit but nearly brought to their knees. Some emergency measures had to be taken because we were sucking up bandwidth at a positively insane rate. We still are, for that matter, so until we get back down to managable levels, we're cutting out the inessential things that are required to download each time you open up a page, including signatures. Just be happy we can manage to keep the avatar images up. For now, anyway.

Darn... Right as I finally got around to putting the "PO TAY TOES" gif in my sig, it's disabled... Ah well.....

Good thing, Because the new build is crashing and this site will go over 1000 online again.

why were they disabled?

This is why ArenaNet needs to set up an official forums for GW...

I stated why they are off - our server is being overloaded as it is. We are sustaining 500+ users on the forums during peak times.

As for having an official forum just so you can show off a sig image? wow is what I say.

Not so much for a sig I just find it dumb that a game like this doesn't have an official forum and ArenaNet is pretty much just leeching off you guys right now.

There have been various posts as to why ArenaNet has no official forums. Personally I am a fan of that stance.

Search button saves me a thread. Curious, what kind of box is this site hosted on? And who's supplying the bandwidth?
