The only time ive ever heard this is useful is when using chocking gas, and even then its subpar to echo and other various methods of increasing duration.
However, i was messing around with major prep stacking, and i dont really see a problem ^_^. Most prep stacking exercises are fairly futile, since 2s casting time and short duration make it hard to really keep the dps up. Practiced Stance of course, solves both of these problems, so its a wonder i havent seen them before.
Heres what I ended up with, and yes I know, Its runed to hell:
Ranger/x
Expertise:11+3
Wilderness Survival:10+4
Marksmanship:6+3
Beast Mastery:2+1

Kindle Arrows +26 (36s duration)
Ignite Arrows +19 (36s duration)

ok, lets look at the dps. (ignoring the interrupt from cg)
taking basic bow damage (15-28) then averaging to 21.5:
21.5+26+19+9+7+6=88.5 damage per shot.
Per Dual Shot, every 5 seconds, we get 166.25 damage (preps arent affected by the duel shot reduction are they?)
Now this is an awful lot of damage, but of course one problem is that there is no attack speed buff.
However, does the effect of practiced stance only work when the stance is active, or does it change the stats of the prep when you activate it under pstance, then it doesnt matter what happens after that, the prep is changed to last 50% longer?
If the second option, which i have a feeling is the correct one, then surely in place of x we can put tigers fury, and simply activate is after the preps have been applied?
pstance has a recharge of 15s, so recasting isnt really an issue to refresh the preps.
that means with a dpshot of 88.5, and firing every 0.89s, we get a dps of 99 :/. And unlike other very high dps' like quickshot, this is very low energy and so is highly maintainable, and also isnt screwed by diversion.
whatsmore with duel shot, we should be pushing the dps well over the 100 mark (obviously).
and even if tf does cancel the effect of the pstance, with the duel shot bonus id say the dps still hangs around 100 mark, and we can put in winnowing instead, to buff it even further.
So, any thoughts? If im right about this dps, is this not more effective than qs, evis spiking, and ele spiking? (remember the old chain lightening was nerfed damage from 120 to 80, this guy can do 166 damage every 5 seconds, that means 4 guys can kill someone spikewise every 5 seconds :S?)
Are there any counters besides the usual, i.e. sof, faint, pacifism, and all the other general attacker hate skills? The only thing that i can think of really is prot spirit, but even then the dps is high (and the interrupt rate)?
