Ecto Price drops to 9k

Whats up with the ecto price dropping 500g? (9.5 to 9) There were several people saying that the price of ecto is going to skyrocket because of the solo monk being slightly nerfed.

EDIT: The price dropped another 500g today. Now it is at 8.5k. I agree with Mitsu Bishi. I think Anet has increase the drop rates for shards and ectos. Im not complaining

Well, all the people who WANTED to farm and jump on the bandwagon started bitching.

All the people who COULD farm found another build and started farming again.

So really, the supply of ectos isn't drying up.

Exactly. The invincimonk build was made more on par with other builds, but farming as a whole wasn't stopped. Nor was the intention ever to stop farming completely.

True - the cookie cutter Invinci-monk web build is apparently now nerfed, but that doen't stop the possibility that monks can still solo UW with just a little thought and a little tweak here and there, and to be honest, if they can do that, then all power to them. (Just whatever they do, please don't publish your build on the forums, cos it will only get nerfed, encourage whingers, and produce more and more copycat UW farmers)

As for the price of Ectos, well it fluctuates just like any other commodity, right? Your choice whether you want to sell now, or hold on just in case the price does change again.

As far as I know, they also upped the drops in UW and Fissure. At least that's what I encountered in Fissure yesterday - our group had about 20 shards drop in 2 hours. Nearly every member got 2 shards, some even three. I'd guess it is the same with Ectos, they drop more often after the update.

More ectos? Woohoo. Time to stop PvP and go back to farming. Not because I want dirty fissure armor (when collector armor can be sexier), but because I can't hold 3 million gold. As far as ecto going down? Prices like 9k or 9.5k are definately controlled and rounded. I can almost guarantee that. The fact that Ecto is sometimes cheaper than black dye? Disturbing.

Uw Is Not Nerfed Protective Bond Is Nerfed.. Which U Can Still Solo The Uw With The Nerfed Protective Bond

The newer UW farming builds are actually faster than the cookie-cutter prot bond build.

After being thoroughly disgusted at people saying, "it wasn't meant to be solo'd!" and telling other people what they should be doing in game. I went ahead and bought the armor/runes for my monk so I can solo the UW now. It's fun, I will do my part to bring down the price of ectos as much as possible, in fact I'll be selling all the ecto's for 500 gold less than the merchant will buy them and I hope everyone else will too...

its been constantly changing between 9K 9.5K and 10K for a week or so. when the regions got linked I bought ecto for 9K at the trader; seince the day before it was like 11K to 15K each from people*

also the price WONT go below 9K at the trader; it'll not be able to be bought...

I have a UW Solo Ranger Build...I will not post the build information until ArenaNet goes on record in regards to whether or not they plan on nerfing all solo builds...I will however post screenshots at a later date(when I get a chance to take some )

I just couldn't for the life of me stomach being yet another WaMo build. I'm working on a MoMe UW Solo build. If I can get that to work reliably I will post that build for all of you.

This is an awesome idea. I mean, if everyone has more gold than they know what to do with anyway, why not sell Ecto for cheaper. Let us poor noobs have a chance at getting 15k Armor!

big deal? it just goes to prove the point that the monk build was not nerfed as so many here have claimed..

The nerf hasn't stopped farming... it stopped the protective bond build farming. Monks are still happily bringing in as many ectos as they were before, so the price hasn't changed.

This matters...only to people that do UW solo or are buying FoW armor.

(That doesn't include me)

I like how people assume that because they got a good/bad run, the drops have been changed.

You left out one group, the uber rich who completely max'd out gold and use the 10k ecto price for trading...
