No Black Dye Drop Yet...

after lookin at several posts...ive come to a conclusion...black dyes...are rare...very rare

I probably had 750 hours played before I got my first black, and then I got 3 in one week (and none since).

Rare if you don't have 8k to buy it. Rare if you depend on getting it drop from different enemies.

1,300 hrs on 1 acc
30hrs on the other
(mostly pvp mind)

had about 4-7 black drops

1 off hydras 1 from fissure

and one off grawl(south shiverpeaks) and pre searing on my 2nd account, newbie chars get better stuff

I've played for 1,080 hours and I've gotten 3! But I don't really care, either

I only read the OP, but I have not had a black drop for probably 3 months and before that think I had 3. This last Saturday my son and I were playing together doing quests and missions in Old Ascalon, no henchies. We had 14 dyes drop in about 7 hours of play, including 2 blacks and 2 silvers for him and a silver for me.

I played my level 18 elementalist the whole time and he was split between a ranger and elementalist, who both finished at level 12.

Couple weeks ago I had two drop over a two day period, each for a different character. Been quite the drought before that, however.

Is it me or there is more rune drops from different enemies. Just this week.. i got total of 10 runes, 4 are superior and rest are major to minor runes.

Yeah, I had myself a good spot where I got 2 superior, 1 major, and 5 minor in about 4 hours of farming.

PS: No I won't tell you where :P

So, it's established that Dyes drop more frequently in Pre-searing? Or, do we just see more dye b/c it's solo?

For the record, this weekend I've been farming while hunting bears for Hunter's Ale near Fort Ranik.

I found LOTS of dye, including 2 Black. Now I can't stop farming in pre-searing... (30 Hunter's Ale and counting, LOL!)

Yes, since anet swung their nerf bat at the farming industry a few weeks ago, runes have been dropping more often.

I LOVE BOT FARM NERFS

it spreads the loot around more evenly for everybody else.

after the giant so called *farming nerf* months ago my drops got much better as the area farmers found their 20 superior rune/hour spot was only average .

I notice more gold items or weapons drops too.... Won't tell you where but here a hint.......

I've had 6 or 7 black dye drops total, between pre/post searing in about 450hours total ingame time between all 4 of my no L20 characters.

EDIT: Note, i have only gotten 1 sup vigor, and no sup absorptions or any of the gooood sup runes other than having to trade for them in this time also.

I have over 1k hours and never a black dye!! I have 3 ascended characters with all missions complete and Im primarily a farmer /pvp player now!! I exclusivley do FOW -UW - Grenths and SF!!

Three characters, two ascended. four black dye drops, one of which I used on 30 Armour. The rest I sold to get better armour. Maybe half dozen silver.

I have over 800 hours and no black dye drops.

It's finally happened. Got my first black dye last week (after prob 400+ hours, haven't used /age recently Came up for my new Me/R character outside Piken Sq. First really 'wow' drop I've had... actually, no, tell a lie, my L20 ele had a sapphire drop outside LA a coupla weeks back. Maybe that's to make up for nerfing my favourite AoE stuff

On my travels of 600+ hour gameplay, I found its easier to get a good deal off other players then hoping for that one special drop. Annoyingly I need to Superiour Vigor runes... and hell no am I paying 70K for one
