is he trying to scam me? some1 please give me advise on what to do

i got a pm this night/moring froma guy saying i scammed him. im sure i didnt . i havent scammed anybody ever in this game, but he says i did. and he is going to report me if i dont pay him they money i supposedly took scammed him out of. ive been playing this game for a while and have been doing alot of trading and stuff and i dont want my name tarnished in anyway. i asked him if he had screen shots and he said he does and i asked if he would send them to me, because if he had screen shots of what he said happened, id pay him what he gave me, because it had to me a mistake.and i was asking for proof because im not the type of person to hand over things without proof. he said he cant send them but he wants me to pay him bak or my computer is going to be shut down and all this other junk. (thats when i first thought. is he trying to scam me?) i told him i took screen shots of the whole conversation and im going to post it. im sure i did not scam him, and if i did anything that makes him think i did. ill pay him what he gave me.(if he has proof) because if what he said happen really did happen, it had to be an accident.i have screen shots of the whole conversation. but i dont think i should post them here cuz there's about 30 screenshots altogether. does any1 have any advise on what i should do? if u want to see the conversation, ill send them to u. i hope this is all just a mistake and he isnt just trying to scam me.
the amount of gold is a small amount, but still , i dont want to hand that amount over to him if its just a scam. his ign is <XXX CENSORED XXX> and his guild tag is <XXX CENSORED XXX>. if any1 has gotten anything like this from him pls tell me. if u want to see the screen shots of our conversation leave a reply saying so.

Sounds like a scammer to me - if he can't show you proof of what you supposedly did, then there can't be much of a case.

And good for you that you were sensible enough to take screenshots of the conversation.

I think the fact that you have screen shots, and he is unwilling to show his, pretty much says all that needs to be said. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but hand on to your shots in ase you need them. ANET should have logs to review as well if ever needed. They are very careful about banning folks without solid proof.

You could just say he is blackmailing you, and you are going to report HIM.

Seriously, don't give him any money and add him to your ignore list. I guess it had to happen sometimes this kind of blackmail. It reminds me of all high school stories, like "Gimme your lunch and I won't hurt you"

i have gotten scammed like that before. well they tried to scam me like that before. dont worry about it put him on your ignore list. thats what i did and nothing has come of it.

just ignore the guy trying to scam you. it's all BS. i dont know why there are idiots like him trying to scam people like that.
