Lina the Protector... Hmmm

This is something my friend found only a few days ago, I give him the credit for this find. In the days of old the henchies had last names, well in the Guild Wars Prima Guide, he was reading over them and found Lina Esrevni, while reading the name a sudden idea came to mind and he said. "Hey, what was the main character of Slayers called?" You know, Slayers, an anime series featuring a spunky magicuser named Lina. Well we found out that either someone was just being cute or that the Guild Wars Devs have an anime fan or a few amongst them, because Esrevni is, thats right. Inverse backwards. meaning it sounds like a take off of the main character of Slayers, Lina Inverse.

Lo and behold we all got a rather good laugh out of this, and I figured I'd share it, all credit goes to my friend Blaed though, not me, I just wanted to post it up here. Heh.

Haha... Interesting. It's old, but you may notice that "Rodgort" of the 2 fire magic spells is "Trogdor" spelled backwords - refering to Home Star Runner.

The only problem is that Lina Inverse was never really a protector, so much as she was a...weapon of mass destruction. >_>

Heh, it'd be funny if you're killing with henchies and suddenly hear a 'DURAGON SULAVU!' from behind you pwning everything including your own party.

Lol...or even worse if Lina had her own party of henchmen with her, and you hear: "we are the allies of JUSTICE!!! EVIL CANNOT WIN!"

Damn that girl annoys me...lol

Maybe that's it though, she IS a weapon of mass destruction but Inverse is backwards so maybe its just some sort of funny pun on the whole Slayers thing. I find it funny non-the-less, I'd have to die if I end up finding a Naga-Laugh in here, anyone who knows Slayers knows what I'm talking about... *cringes at the Naga-Clones*

Anyway, I do wonder if thats what inspired the name Esravni, I'd love to hear the take on this from their point of view or if this is merely happy coincidence.

That Naga laugh would wtfrock anything.

Naga laughs: all the monsters on the map instantly aggro you. =P

Anyone notice Mehnlo, when the letters are rearranged, spells Hemlon.

I got the Rodgort thing but the Lina is all wrong.

If you invert Rodgort you get Trogdor
If you invert Lina you get Anil.... even though thats spelled wrong its very clear that the developers of Anet are sick sick people.

Thats what I was thinking... But I restrained myself from posting it.

Only one I've spotted is the very obvious NPC character Ellie Rigby in Ascalon. ("Ahhh, look at all the lonely people"...etc.)

Oh, and I found something else interesting. If you mix up the letters in Little Thom it comes out to be illtet otmh! Unbelieveable right?!

I'm sure that the guard outside of Lion's Arch is called 'Riddick'.

If Inverse is.. inversed, and she goes from destroyer to protector, isn't that, well, inversed, as well? Just a thought.

Lo Pan in Lions Arch is still my favorite.
