Save The Ghostly Staves!

After much searching on this forum i have discovered that Ghostly staves have become an endangered Species!
very few of these noble and beautiful weapons run around free anymore
We believe the problem is that few of these rare and awsome weapons are finding their way into the right hands. too many get sold off into slavey at the merchant... never to be seen again.

THIS MUST STOP!

we must endeavor to save these fantastic weapons if not for us then for those to follow us. they should be allowed to share in the beauty of the ghostly staff.

There is only one known breeding colony of Ghostly staves, in the underworld, and they are suffering terribly at the hands of poachers and farmers their natural habitat, smite crawlers, are being mercilessly destroyed. and the staves are then sold off because they are not the real prize the farmers and poachers are after.

I beg that if you or a friend discovers an example of this noble weapon please, please post a picture of it and the location you discovered it at. if you plan to sell it to a merchant or salvaging (murder ) one of these please, please think twice. i will try to buy these amazing weapons up however i am but one person, and one person with little money.

If you find a ghostly staff please, please find either a good home for it or give it to me or any who will help me for a minimal fee.

we will also accept donations of money to allow us to free these weapons from the oppressing hands of uncaring owners.

Found it at smites

not a half bad staff... however i expect you to look after this rare and treasured staff... if ever i find you have sold it or salvaged it then i will... i will....... just don't

I don't think I've found any of those yet, but I've been collecting interesting and rare weapons that I find, so if I find any you can be sure I'll keep them.
In my collection I have a Fellblade, Chaos Axe, Fiery Dragon Sword, Eternal Bow, Storm Bow, Shadow Bow, Shadow Staff, Interesting Looking Earth Staff, Mursaat Hammer, the list goes on...

shadow staves are also a rare occurance and hard to find however they have a wider habitat (all of FoW).
none of those (impressive impressive i'll admit) weapons surpass the ghostly staff in nobilty or beauty.

I think i have 5 ghostly staffs and 3 shadow staffs at the moment...im a collector

What's a ghostly staff?

I had 2 ghostly staffs drop in one smite run. Both were blue, one was not max damage but had a few minor upgrades on it, the other was max dam but just "precious". So I gave the one with mods to a guildie and kept the other and threw a head and wrap on it (both minor stuff). It falls into that "looks cool" slot in the inventory.

i agree when i wanted one for my necro it was almost impossible to find a seller, but i did and now its all good.

i have saved 3 staves from the salvage kit and merchant today

including one requiring 8 blood and one requiring 8 smite

money to continue this great endevour is greatly appreciated. this lot cost me 2k.

the smite req. staff is max dmg and low req. as long as you promise to never sell to merchant or salvage it then it can be yours... i had to give 1k for this one.

i have just saved another staff with a smiting req. of 10.

To be perfectly honest, I could care less about max damage on a staff/wand. I do so much casting as a ele/necro, I don't even have the time to wand them to death. I'd rather have a non-max damage with sweet mods, than a max damage with none.

EDIT: What does the modifier "Precious" mean?

Ghostly staffs drop pretty well in the underworld. but not many max. the one I'm using is max 11-22 and I got it near the Shrine to the Reaper of the Chaos planes. Its only purple though. I added my prefix suffix addons myself.

Precious makes it more valuable for no real game benefit.

update... here is my newest saved staff: max dmg ghostly staff of fortitude (req. of 13 divine favor) the fortitude is +21hp.

another staff saved: dmg 11-21 req. 8 death magic. +10 energy (as all do) and +10% recharge on fire magic skills.

the work progresses well

Didn't even know these still dropped. Last one I found was in beta... Do shadow swords (no, not fellblades) still drop as well?

as far as i know shodow swords do not drop any more. if they did i would save them as well

also another staff saved:dmg 10-19 req. 7 death magic

2 more saved from the chop...

11-21 req. 11 fire magic
11-22 req. 8 water magic

yet another: 11-20 req. 11divine favor (defensive head +4 armour) and (enchanting staff wrapping +10% duration for enchantments) this i may keep for my monk

Oh, this dropped from the Smite Crawlers as Hale (+28) Ghostly Staff. But it had max energy/dmg and good base recharge/speed so i upgraded it =D.
