1)Lets say you have a rune on every one of your armor pieces except the gloves, if you put a minor absorbtion on the gloves would it affect only the gloves? or the entire armor set?

2) If you have a rune on every one of your armor pieces, can you 'overwrite' the rune to get the new rune on?

1. The minor absorbtion on the gloves would give you the effect for the complete armor set.

2. You can overwrite yes. The armor will use whatever the best rune is for that specific attribute, and disregard the weaker. Thus if you had a minor Vigor and put a Superior Vigar on the same piece, the Sup. Vigor would become the active one.

Robos comment on overwritting may have been slightly innaccurate, allow me to explain

this is partially true. If you have a minor and superior on two different pieces of armor, the minor will be ignored. However if you have rune on one piece and you go to put a 2nd rune on top of it, the new rune will replace the old rune, doesn't matter which is the 'better' of the two, new trumps old in this case. This allows you to 'remove' extra superior runes from your armor (having multiple drops of 75 hp can quickly add up to failure if you're not careful) by overlaying a cheaper minor rune. You won't necessarily get the effect from it but you'll get rid of the -75hp

Is this saying you retrieve the old rune, or is it destroyed like in the case of putting a weapon upgrade over another?

overwriting destroys as you are not salvaging

exacly if u dont salvage its gone... and even when u do salvage theres is still a prob that it can b lost, so if your not sure ur going to keep it on i recommend getting the same piece of armor clean from crafter that way u can just swap.
