I've played for 3 months now, have sold every item worth selling that I had the patience to do so. I make my money from people buying ecto and shards are retardly high prices. Heck, 1 ecto drop will basically pay for a piece of 15k armor now. 4 shard drops are the same. I don't farm for items, I farm for exp so I can switch my characters secondary's, get the skills and create about any PvP character I want. Still with all of my ecto, gold, purple, rune, etc. drops I've probably tallied in a steady 600-700k, most of which I give away to guildies if they need armor and for my 15k sets.
So here's my opinion on the matter....
The retards who spend their real life money on in game money are not only supporting myself, but my guild by buying ecto and shards are incredibly overcharged prices. In three months I have made enough money to pay for about one thirds of a Fissure armor set, but for some reason I see people decked out in the armor all the time. How do they get the money to pay for it? Well it's eBay gold of course.
Sure these people screw up the economy by inflation on certain items. I mean seriously 99k for a superior absorbtion??? Take a major and save yourself 90k. 35k for black dye??? Go blue, go silver, be a darn road cone and go orange

.
Guild Wars has done something about this that most people don't realize. That is keeping every item in the game close together so farming, buying gold from eBay, etc won't give you much of an advantage.
Sure if you pay through the nose you can get a superior vigor, and inflation from farmers and eBayer gold buyers keeps that high, but the difference between a major vigor and superior is at least 35k in price and only 10 health. Are you going to get smoked in PvP by not having that 10 health?
No. Godly weapons go for 70k, but what's the difference in a godly 70k weapon versus a normal 3k weapon. 5-10% damage @ heath <50%? Is that going to kill you in PvP by not having it?
No.
Inflation is rampant among the higher items because of the eBayers, but you don't need the superiors/black dyes/godly items at all to be successful in the game. Let the eBayer's run up the inflation on the top items I don't care, I don't need them. Just don't let it get out of hand so it leaks down to major and minor runes for other characters starting the game. I'm pretty sure Arena has a good idea that when someone all of the sudden aquires 500k in a matter of 24 hours they didn't do it by selling Stone Summit Badges to the merchant.
Heck I have just normal stuff I found or unlocked, max armor, but more importantly 3 months of gameplay experience. Give me someone in PvP with Fissure armor, a godly weapon, and a superior vigor, and my Air Spiker can shut him down not much different than anyone else.
In short:
Keep wasting your real life money on eBay gold retards and fund my gaming experience. I'll pick you out first in the Competition Arenas with that oh so pretty Fissure Armor set.
