Rediculous rune prices!!

I can't believe ANet would skyrocket the prices of Monk Superior Runes to 50k each.... WHENEVER us players find a way to get ahead, they completely shoot us down.

What exactly are you trying to acomplish, ANet? What does nerfing the shit out of everything and skyrocketing prices on things that will help our characters do? Level out the playing field? We're not even friggin playing against eachother.... You've taken it one step too far.

I dont even know anymore... this game has gotten less and less fun.

Anet didn't do it, the economy did. Everyone's buying them for that 105 build.

I don't know why you're getting angry at ANet.
They only made the system where the more you buy the more the prices go up and the more you sell the more the prices go down.
Now with the monk runes being such in demand, no one in their right mind would sell sup monk runes to the rune trader because they can get a better deal with other players. And those who can't find a seller will just buy them from the rune trader.

So that's why the prices has being going up. It's like Superior Vigor and Absorbtion are pricey and have been pricey for a long long time because they're in high demand.

The rune trader's prices are based on player demand.

A fix would be to have the traders pay more for items they don't have in stock. Makes sense to me.

And.... if you're all so high and mighty about discouraging farming, why would you price things so high? The ONLY way we would be able to buy these items is by farming.

You're contradicting yourselves... Your merchants buy our rare drops for about 300g. How in the WORLD are we suposed to get enough money for a superior Monk or Vigor rune? You might as well take them off the market, seeing as how if, by playing by your "no excesive farming" rules, we'd never be able to buy these things.

--You pay us nothing, you over-charge us into oblivion, and expect us to not try to farm to get enough money to pay for your rediculous prices? --

If gas prices were to rise to $20.00 a gallon, the only way people would be able to buy the same amoutn of gas is through crime. If Ectoplasm and Obsidian prices rise to 20k each, the only way we can get this much gold is through farming senseless. I know America/Europe don't encourage crime, but what ELSE are we to do but farm?

How hard would it be to have some kind of auto-detect in Guild Wars? America/Europe have police forces, which keep crime rate down, so why cant Guild Wars have something to solve this problem, instead of skyrocketing the prices?

I'm sure that the Rune Traders offer little more than 1k for Sup Vigor or Sup Monk Runes... How does this have ANYTHING to do with thier economy? They have a low supply, so they should buy at descent prices from players

anet does NOT control the price. It is a build in algorithm for traders, say 100 people buy a sup healing, the price will move higher because its higher in demand.

But if the trader is running out, the trader's buy price should go up in efforts to increase his supply.

nah, it just tends to buying much lower. Basically the Traders have become gold sinks. The respond exactly to demand to buy but in a more muted fashion to demand to sell.

You all mean to tell me that ANet doesnt control what goes on in it's games??? If they wanted thier traders to sell for less, they woudl make them. I dont think the traders have grown indipendent of ANet. If ANY of you REALLY THINK that Anet can't change prices, you're just dumb; plain and simply dumb.

They pay trivial amounts for our goods. The buying rate goes up at a crippling rate as well.

As soon as the soloing build appeared on the forums I went and bought 10 superior protection runes. You should have been quicker. I spent about 5 plat on em. And made 125k profit. All it took was 1 minute of buying, 2 weeks of waiting, and 10 minutes of selling.

And who said farming is the only way to make money? Trends in the market can be very lucrative. Runes are at high prices right now. You might want to look at rare materials to make money at the moment. Or try to create a new build that doesn't require expensive runes.

i got over 5 plat for a major rune recently and the cheapest i sold a minor (got 5 of them 2 days ago) was a couple hundred and one minor was way over half a plat sold not bought TO THE TRADER not waiting around going WTS

the dye trader offered me almost 12 plat for a single black dye

Supply and demand! People buy them, they cost more. And they cost about 15,000, not 50,000...
