I've heard the most common place to get black dye is pre-searing, I've found a black dye in wizards folly recently.... Is this true?

inever looked at the black dyes i had last night, do they now have "value" in the identification, usually it would read 1gp, yours is over 100.

Now that i'm in post, i find tons of green, orange and some silver, but nervar saw another black.

Nice work i guess..

i dont understand the fuss about black dye, it looks horrible on most armor.. im just keeping mine in my stash incase i ever want to sell them

Hehe, I have found tons of black dye. Odd thing is ....Most of it is pre-searing lol. Actually thats not true. Because I am in a guild with RL friends and they dont have in home jobs like I do I find myself playing most of the time By myself. Mercs are great. Defently seem to be better then PUGs. Anyways back on to what I was saying. I do most of my missions with mercs and because I do this I actually seem to find alot of really nice things. I know its not as good as soloing but currently I havnt found that the Necro/Mes Minion master is good at running around trying to find stuff. Anyways the place I find most of my dyes seem to be in the area where the ranger trainers are in pre-searing up there where all the skales are before you go into the trans to the other town. ( yes I have forgotten their names ). Seems skales love to drop them...

I still have never found a black dye after going through the entire game many times. I just end up finding a ton of silver dyes. I got 3 silver dye drops in a span of probably less than a minute once on a farming run.

OK - Here's the update.
The dye merchant was buying for 7.8k so I couldn't resist and sold off 82 vials of black dye for a cool profit (most of them I bought when it was under 5k). So I still have 50 vials.

Let's see if the price of black dye starts to drop now. I wonder....

yea i belive it is more common in pre searing.. ive gotten 2 there and 1 in post searing.. ive only been playing for like 140 hours

i have 2 friends that play and we collect all our rare finidins on one player on each account.. in total weve got 11 black 27 silver and 40+ of thee others

Well, this morning black dye is selling for 7k at the trader. I'm not so sure it's a coincidence because a long time ago the price of dye shot up a day or two after I bought up my collection.


Tomorrow I predict as low as 6.5k.

I would agree with you, with the exception of the 15k mesmer noble.

I don't care about black dye, but some moron on europe is constanly buying every single vial of silver dye. Seriously, i haven't seen the trader sell one for about 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure as soon as he does sell them, they are at 10 k or something like that.
