I started hoarding black dye a while back to see how it'd affect the GW economy.
Now I know it does.

Nice pic. I have quite a collection of dyes, including many blacks, myself. I think its pretty presumptuous to assume that you are single handedly causing the massive price fluctuations in black dyes, but it certainly contributes, and I am sure that lots of people all collecting dyes and not using them or selling them does have an impact. They do drop much, much faster than you are hording them, though, so it isn't ALL you . . .

You're right - it's probably not all me.
I'd just like to think it is - lol.
Still, after hoarding so long - it's tough to sell any lol.
And, no, these are not all from drops. I purchased most of them when the price was low - and bought as much as I could when ppl were still selling for less than 5k.

What would be funny is.....
Now all the other people that are hoarding Black Dye go and sell it while you are offline.
They make a ton of gold and you have Black Dye that is worth less than a plat each.

I realise that possibility. I figure, the only way it could happen is if Anet decided to dramatically increase the supply of Black Dye - which will screw me out of my investment. By the looks of it the Black Dye drops are getting more common - so maybe that's in the works. If so, then that's another slap in the face to honest Capitalism and one more step towards Guild Wars Socialism.
Still, I thought buying up Black Dye was more stable than buying up, say, Ecto or Sup runes. And it is.
I'm still waiting for the "Ecto bubble" to burst. Maybe I can start to trade Black Dye for Ecto.
