Im personally getting bored of GW. UW is getting boring, and PvP isn't for me.
Even raising another character is getting boring. But i love the skill system, and combat system.
But what I really missed was stuff like crafting, mining, fishing etc. I used to play two games a while ago called Tibia and Runescape.
Tibia was great because even though you'd have to wait for a spawn to come, in the meantime, myself and a few others would be camping at that place, and talking about random things, i.e socialising.
Then there was runescape, again i could do the same, except with fishing. I remember entering the fishing guild on World 1, and fishing at that place for hours and hours, the reason why i liked it was because I could talk to everyone else around there. Sometimes the odd auto-bot prevention system would pop up, i.e a Giant Fish would pop up and start smacking me across the head, but those who were real players moved away from these creatures and thats that. In the meantime, i'd be gathering resources to use.
Unfortuntely both games are annoying, because of the endless combat grind you would need to do, not the mention the massive death penality. In Tibia its 10% of your xp gone, and 2 skills lost.
Now back to Guild Wars.
Chatting in town is kinda annoying, because I'm 20, and most of these 'kids' just talk about:
"Hey baby"
"Strip!"
"Dance in 3.. 2.. 1.." <<-- Thats fun, but gets boring after a while lol
"Get lost"
Selling things in the game is just a joke, and so farming is kinda annoying. I've gathered so many things like a Barbed Spatha of Defence, 15-22, 15%dmg when enchanted, lengthens bleeding, +5 armor always. But selling that is just such a joke, that i don't want to bother to goto Ascalon Dist 1, and try to sell it. Hell, it took me 1 hour to buy a few warrior minor runes, because the text was gone so fast. - So farming isn't that fun anymore.
My guild is fun, we have a few GvGs, but PvP outside GvG isn't that fun i find. We also talk, but thats also limited since its only when certain members enter the game thats things liv'en up.
I guess if something like mining was included in the game - it would be fun, and wouldn't effect the overall system - because the only thing that would be effected would be material prices. Prices would probably be high at first, but players can always salvage as usual, but then prices will go down.
Plus if farming were introduced, it would probably be like:
"LFG Forming group to mine Iron in Shiverpeaks"
Then an 8 person group is formed
Then it'd be a nice alternative to what i usually do.
Today i had a bit of fun, only after showing two people how to farm. They got some decent drops, and i got mine as usual, but we had a good chat during several runs - and it was quite fun. Unfortunetely, they died most of the time, and my particular build requires creatures to hit me, in order to work.
I guess what i'm saying is that an alternative to farming creatures, missions, PvP and PvE would be more likeable in Guild Wars.
D

to be honest i dont PVP and am a total PVErt to my bones.
