Point Blank Shot

10 energy, 3 second recharge, same damage as Power Shot... only drawback is the limited range. Since my ranger has 14 expertise, would it be a good idea for me to pack this skill? The range using a shortbow is prohibitive, but the damage output is probably stellar with 14 expertise. Anyone have an opinion?

If you want another damage option besides Penetrating Shot, then it's either Power SHot or Point-Blank Shot (personal preference). But Penetrating should be taken before either of them.

I vouch for Penetration.

I all ready use Penetration Shot... I"m well aware of its wonderful damaging capabilities. I was just wondering if anyone had much experience using Point Blank and if it was worth having in a damage build, with the whole short recharge and high damage and all...

When expertise is higher than marksmanship, I'd take point blank shot over another marksmanship-based attack. At expertise 14, try point blank, punishing, and debilitating over and over, or any other combination of 5-10 energy bow attacks. Toss on a preparation to boost the damage even more.

For one thing, point blank shot is useful for closing in to a range where your arrows are nearly impossible to dodge.

Obviously Power Shot and Point Blank Shot are from two different lines. So... just use one what is associated with the higher rank.

If you are not ranger you can't have Point blank. It reloads only for 3 secs and IF you use it with Serpents quickenes - you can do deliver a quite punch with only 2 skills. As other said - it is another atribute.
