Out of all the beta weekends, this one had the worse player attitudes I have ever seen. It seemed like there was a huge increase of new players which might be why. I have never had so many sore losers, immature opponents or cocky teammates before, all in PvP (the only PvE I did was at Temple of Ages so those people have been around for a bit). Of course, I played The Crag a lot, and that is where the newbies started. Got tiring facing jerks, but I guess it's expected in any game.
Not to say that all the newbies were mean or annoying. I met a lot of nice ones. Maybe it's just because I did 95% PvP during the weekend, but I hope this isn't a sign of release. Anyone else notice this or had similiar experience?
A sign of release?

I noticed a few of these people too. I just don't think it's as many as you thought it was. Usually, when you encounter a couple of jerks in a couple matches of Arena, you think everyone is a dick. It's not really the case though, most people are pretty nice on GW, there are just a select handful of assholes.
I went on a 15+ win streak in one of the Arenas (the 4v4 random kill the other team one) with this kid that thought it was so funny to shout "all your dads buttsex are belong to me" among many other stupid things after we would win. I just politely asked him to shut up after about the 5th time, and he did. Sometimes you just gotta be nice to them and ask them to stop.
It was funny though, because I encountered him again later that day but we were on opposing teams. I saw his name, and instantly rushed after him. I took him out in a couple of seconds, and purposely stop playing for a few seconds to type out "all your dads buttsex are belong to me now" for him. It was great.

The only problem I had was in PvP when someone got killed on the opposite team, called a teammate "A horrible player" (*snicker*) and then DC'd. Other than that the community was great, even had someone who accidentally sold me too few hides insist on giving me the rest after I finished the trade.

i was there with auh, we actually beat them in the end, after over an hour of killing the fertile, attacking the ranger, killing fertile again, kill the ranger, attack the guild lord, attack the fertile, and so on, but it was kinda fun, i kept blowin things up with catapaults
but i dont thing it was warriors of w/e i think it was ragnorak sumtin or close to that

I've played all the betas and the WPE, so I know how awesome and good overall the community is. I'm not really complaining. I just noticed that this being the last weekend, I encountered more than my usual share of poor players. I'm wondering if people think it will get as bad (or worse) as some other games, or if GW will draw in a much happier crowd. So far so good in my opinion.
And you can't accurately compare the community of GW to other online games yet since it isn't released. That's my point. Thx for the feedback.

I noticed a few as well that were blatently rude and cocky, but I think that's pretty typical for any online game. There is signifigantly fewer in Guild Wars however, which is nice.
Besides, Eventually they'll get sick of the game if everyones ignoring them and they get no where with the way they're acting. At least here they cant attempt to TK or PK us to fuel a fire, that'll be a major deturent to get them to back the hell off and go bug the CS community again.

I noticed this too. Especially on the European teams there seemed to be quite a few people who just like to trash-talk. That, and the fact that especially on the last day, getting a good group for PvP was damn near impossible. It wasn't that the players in the group were annoying, just very, very uncoordinated or unskilled. It also seemed that most of the truly skilled players were hanging out at the Temple of the Ages trying to beat the Underworld and the Fissure of Woe.

Ive been playing wow since release, and i do agree that most people on pvp/normal servers, are idiots. so i play on a rp server, and most of the idiots, go away.
I do enjoy role-playing, and i do plan starting a rp guild.

That's typical with online games or the internet where you have your keyboard commandos talking garbage or being jerks as long as it's in the safety of being anonymous.
I general had fun with the pick-up pvp groups but all it takes is one a-hole to ruin it. For example in my first group I was in we got wiped on the first map and we had some dork yelling about how everyone on the team sucks and needs to learn to play the game. Funny thing to yell in a beta. Even better was when everyone told him to STFU and he quit, we started over and won the next four maps. Nothing funner than Noob on Noob violence.

The game by design is based on competition. I would be inclined to say that GW will have many trash talkers and sore losers. However, the bonus is that when the game is released you will group less with random people and group more with your own guild mates.
This should relive the issues with sore losers and trash talkers if your guild has good management. However, from time to time you will face a guild that trash talks and so forth.
