Drawing on the map

Does anyone else ever get people who, after you start to draw out routes on the map some will begin drawwing curse words and sexual organs on the mini map or just scribbling on it?

I think color-coded map scribles would really help, so you can tell who to kick and report.

Yes, all the time. For me Its inevidable to get a party with a idiot kid who thinks it fun.

what gets me is it's always the male organs. Do this and I immediately question your sexual preference. Not that I care but do you want me to think your gay?

Color-coding might be confusing on the map, but perhaps a small icon next to a player's name to show that he's drawing (Sort of like the icon when someone calls targets). That way when someone starts drawing his heart out, or filling the map with white, everyone can just gang up on him and kick him in the next town.

well wild scribiling and naughty things are bad,but I think a good smiley face is always welcome and enjoyable.

Perhaps a mix of both the OP and this post's suggestion: Somehow notify the party when X player is drawing on the screen, then be able to right click on thier name and hit "ignore map drawing/pinging"

Yeah, I've seen way too many crude depictions of male genatalia in this game. And what amazes me is how quickly people can write up racist words on the map screen before all the lines fade out. If only they'd use their powers for good!

Yes. I seem to have a knack for attracting the immature and inexperienced. To avoid this, I tend to go with guildies and henchies.

Thats actually a really good idea. If you haven't already submitted that, please do so in the suggestions forum. Also, I think it would be a good idea to give the leader of the party certain privelages, such as enabling only certain players the ability to target call, draw on the map, and who the henchies should follow.

This thread seems to be comming up and up and up again.
Makes me wonder why aNet hasn't done anything about that.

colour-coding is prefered by most people.
Having an icon/flag beside the name won't be good enough. What if two people draw crap at the same time?
It happens all the time.

I still would like to see color-coding and if people get confused with that, they could put in some switch in the preferance menu to toggle between color and B/W.

I don't know, usually I don't have trouble finding out who's drawing, because in a party of 8, there's 7 male organs drawn on the map in different styles.

Usually nobody touches the map but me, so when I get bored, I like to doodle little happy-faces in when I'm not drawing arrows.

well when used correctly its a handy tool

i have people draw smily faces and random scribbles all over the map when the leader is drawing orders... it makes me very unexcited about doing the rest of the mission with that party

I dunno, I always get a laugh out of it. Most of the fools I party with don't know how to use that map to properly strategize, and when I get a group that draws male organs, and one person tells them to stop being immature.. Then you watch as an arrow and the word ASS is drawn on the map, pointing to that one individual.. Good times..

I would argue the reason people draw male organs is because of the easy recognizability of them. I'm guessing people have tried to draw female organs before but nobody realized it was anything more than scribble.

And the drawing of male organs isn't anything new. When's the last time you were in a public restroom? I think it's a bit silly to assume someone's gay because of it.

However, I support a fix.

Aside from drawing though, which is tedious, if anything, the action of rapidly pinging makes me want to shoot people. And it always happens at Frost Gate.

I'm against the colors, because it would confuse more than help.

I propose: if someone is painting, just highlight his name.

The colors are a problem, because how do you know who got which color? And the colors always change, so the same guy will have nearly in every mission/quest an other color. I think that is confusing.

If the 'drawer' is highlighted someway, it will still be enough to identify the abuser and won't confuse me

Get real people. This game has enough phallic symbols OUTSIDE of 10 year olds drawing on the radar. Take, for example:

The ascension mesa? HOW MUCH MORE phallic can you get?

The big, phallus shaped horn atop the hill by Rin where one has to "blow" into to "eject" a spam of "energy".

THE WURMS!!! Everywhere there are "wurms" that pop up from a "hole" in the ground, and "spits" sticky looking globs of projectiles at you. Some, like those in the oasis, elongates as you approach. I mean really now, that's gotta be intentional.

ALL the monk staves look phallic, with their rounded top and consistent stem; even more so if you dye them purple or red.

Those columnic rock formations in the Arid Sea. Really, come on, tell me the devs didn't do the model to unintentionally make it resemble a phallus.

Ever been to Seeker's Passage? Outside, on your minimap, locate the big basin you're standing on, and tell me that *doesn't* resemble a phallus.

Really people, this game is full of such symbols. Nothing new, carry on.

Anyways, I agree, drawing male organs on maps is outright dumb but 10 year old kids will remain 10 year old kids. They just don't realize that the word ''penis'' stops being funny outside the schoolyard.

Yea right buddy. I think you're the only one who's seen this. Either that or you're starting to turn fruity from playing too much. Go clubbing, and if that doesn't work well strippers don't judge if you have money
