Is this considered an exploit?

Ok, I recently stumbled across a way of making easy gold, but I'm not sure if it's considered an exploit.

Go to Fisherman's Haven. Be sure to carry with you running skills (Rangers and Warriors). Basicaly, you exit into Stingray sands. Keep going straight till you can turn into the mountains to the west. Then head south (back towards the Haven). When you come across a fork, go the way that overlooks the Stingray Zone. You will see 45-290 gold appear out of nowhere. Rinse and Repeat. I know that's confusing, so I made a map for you.



Is it an exploit or meant to be there?

I have seen that myself when I made the trip to Fisherman's from Sanctum Cay. I knew I hadn't killed a monster because I was sprinting past them the whole way just to get there fast. Strange thing indeed but I wouldn't go through the pain of running this over and over for 200 gold.

Well, it net's me about 5-7k an hour. Not the best way of making gold, but atleast you don't have to spend all your time in Lion's Arch trying to sell stuff.

Whether it's an exploit or not, that's difficult to say. There are also chests in very easily accessible locations. You could go out to take what they offer as well to make gold. As long as you're doing it by yourself and not with a bot, I'd say it's borderline. A bugreport to A-Net wouldn't be wrong though.

If you have to ask if it's an exploit, I would assume it was and treat it as such.

Words of wisdom spoken there. Personally i think its a bug to replace the tattered girl's cape that used to be in that zone. I havent seen it since that pile of gold has been on the map.

I saw that cape there just yesterday while running a toon from TotA.

I just found that cape on my way to the Haven. I tried farming that with my ranger and it was too much trouble.

Hmm, i guess game experiences may vary then. Typically i found it on the beach, but i saw it other places before the patch though. I just havent seen it since. Ah well.

The Tattered Cape only appears when you enter Stingray Strand from Sanctum Cay.
