Anybody else notice some people take this game abit too seriously...

So, doing random arena to pass the time.. get in a HORRIBLE group they all die in 5 seconds after engagement has begun, Im still standing and almost kill 2 of them before being dropped in well over 5 seconds after they started on me, So I ask in group if people had been to the arena before...

All of a sudden this warrior spazzes out and starts calling me a jew.
Which I asked in turn if he really considered an insult, and if so he should seek some professional help. And if he planned to insult me he should try alot harder as his insult didnt make me "mad" at him.

All of a sudden he's asking me where I live, I tell him its a game and he will get over any insult I offended him with.

So he sends me his address and starts asking me to come kill him...

I mean honestly people, I love this game. As I can just launch it get in a few rounds of arena, or if I have alot of time do some tombs or FoW/UW. But atleast the "subscription" games filtered out SOME of these type of people(I know not all as I have met some in WoW/EQ/DAOC/UO).

Anyways, just needed to "rant" abit about that... people boggle my mind sometimes.

Salespeople cant discriminate against the parents who wish to purchase it saying that the parents children will play it. That's like saying I wont sell a knife to a mother because she'll leave it around the kitchen where a kid will kill a cat or some odd stuff like that.

I was not a jerk when I was 12. I think people these days expecting kids to be jerks is part of the problem. Just because people are young doesn't give them the right to be an ass.

True enough, some of the biggest assholes I've ever met in online games have been adults. In fact one guy who was...particularly rude and obscene was over 40.

Yeah, the teenager thing is a bit of a stereotype (being one myself ), and the fact that that happened to you is just...sad...But you are gonna see alot of it in arenas, considering that its new player central...Also people getting worked up about losing, even in RL last week a kid killed another kid with a baseball bat just because he lost a baseball game...

Base ball, baseket ball, you always have people who take the game too seriously and end up in fist fights.

Heh, even a better example would be soccer. Ocassionally there're some riots that broke out over a team losing. Of course that doesn't happen in US, since nobody plays that here <_<
