Defeating Doppy as a ranger

Took far too many tries, but I finally beat the doppleganger with my Ranger. Tried it with minimal skills, no skills... he whooped me. Brought healing, he whooped me with a full health bar. Brought Throw dirt, he blinded me then whooped me. Finally figured him out. I wound up bringing Determined shot, Disrupting shot, that mesmer signet that disrupts... as well as apply poison, ignite arrows and one of the spirits, nature something or other...

Anyhow, first thing he will do is raise a spirit. Fine by me, it helps us both and gives me time to apply poison. Next thing he does is go for ignite arrows. Disrupting shot stops that and poisons him. He went for apply poison, signet to stop that, then shootout with him eating the poison effects.

He did manage to get the poison later in the fight, but it was too late.

Soooooo... just wondering what the myriad of ranger lovers out here have done to defeat the doppleganger, and hopefully help someone out.

Bring all the spirits you have. That is all you need to do.

Yep, I brought nature rituals and cruddy signets, he got all of 1 shot on me.

I should have asked before I went... but then again, was fun to figure out... so he'll flip off every spirit he has?

ya...just fill your skill bar with spirits and he'll cast them one by one...if you don't kill him quick enough he'll eventually fire two or three arrows at you and then go back to casting spirits.

Roger that bring all spirits and other useless skills from secondary class stand and shoot and you win.

What I did was bring a bunch of sprits and some useless skills, and Power Shot. Then I just ran up so he used that crappy axe and destroyed him.

That's what I did... yeah, I'm a cheap bastard.

The first time I faught my doppleganger I just had my PvE build, which included healing and no spirts, I find that if you just attack him like a normal enemies he dies pretty quick.

I did have a problem with a slight enough lag in the beginning that he could get the first move off, whatever that may be. Sucks to enter and find him lap-dancing you already.

Being Ranger/Mesmer all I did was Backfire then Empathy. He killed himself. Rest of my skills were useless spirits. Beat him in 12 seconds.

I'm R/W, so all I had to do was tap into the 'ol secondary profession..... I'm sure you all can guess how easy it was.....

all spirits ... 1 pen attack for me ... it was over before it started ... he never stood a chance ... bonus = yummy

lol, I should have read this thread before I tried.
I tried 8 times in a row until I got fed up and came with only apply poison.

I finally beat him but it was insane.
I will read these threads more ofter for sure.
