I plan on moving Guild Wars and Factions from my external hard drive to my master hard drive. The main hard drive is a SATA drive that I am hoping will help speed up Guild Wars considerably. Both in loading up game and general map loading. My main concern is the Chapter 1 and 2 keys. I currently have a merged account that I do not want to mess up if I move GW to my main drive. The reason why I am so worried is because I installed Half Life 2 on a old laptop a while back WITH a old unusable email address and that game no longer can be installed on my current computer. Basicly my dilema is will the whole move screwup the keys and prevent me from reusing them?

I think you're talking about your account no longer being merged? Well, no, that won't happen, because your account is merged for good once you use the keys on them.

*sighs*

Well that is good news. However will my entire account still be intact? Meaning will I lose everything like my characters and items? I have 6 months worth of hard labor and love put into my account and last thing I want is to lose everything cause I moved the game to my main hard drive. I know I should ask A-Net's support but I would rather not get one of their generic crappy responses. I am better off asking here cause the community will be able to shed more light on this issue. I just don't want to risk doing this and end up losing all my characters, items, Gold and my list of friends.

Your account will be intact. Your account information is kept on the server. You can play your account from any computer.

ya your account will be intack. you sould be able to copy and past your GW folder and move it. i do it all the time from my Desktop to Laptop, so i don't have to redownload. but my laptop does have to decompress the files.

I uninstalled the game THEN started having a panic attack. I had my Factions stuff in plain sight but uh I had to find my Prophicies discs. Now to find the damn piece of paper that has the key for Factions.

Edit: I am glad this is not like Steam though. Whew! With HL2 I know I would need to go through their support to get my HL2 key working again. Thank god A-Net simplified this whole process.

I did not need the keys at all. I am noticing a slight performance boost now. Should help clear up some resource issues as well. USB 2.0 is great but not when I am playing a online game like GW. I need all the speed I can get during the read\write process.
