Wing, Three Blade

OK - has he decided not to give up his Axe anymore? I love to Green farm, and have at one time or another had almost every green from SF, ToPK, and the New Tyrian Greens. Got Sskai's sword, the Stonereeper, and a few other Canthan greens, but I have been trying to get Wings Axe for a long time. I must have killed him over 50 times.

I know about the farming code, so I don't continuously just keep running to him, never saw a message. I do take 2 or 3 Henchies with me, so I know that can affect the drops, but come on. Even Bortak isn't this stubborn.

What gives?

Yes - this is a rant thread. Just want to know if others get him to drop his precious axe??

I've farmed him a lot with a two-man team, as well as its nearby friends Kenshi, and Jin.
Also farmed extensively Lian for her beautiful lantern.
The odds to get a green from them are very low. I would say less than 1/5 (I mean they drop a green one run on five approximatively). If you take 3 henchies with you, it divides the odds by four (you+three henchies taking their part), meaning odds of 1/20. No doubt taking henchies is a no-no here.

Well - OK. Guess I'll try and get some guildies to go with me. I wish I could solo it, but can't seem to do enough damage to him alone. He uses Heal Signet every other second it seems. At least I know there's hope

A warrior with mostly attack skill with dolyak sig and a bond monk with ignorance is an easy 2 man run for this.

You think that's bad? I've tried for Sskai's sword 316 times now (yes I did count, and don't my Guild know it), killing him each time and he hasn't dropped it once!

Yes, I was solo.
Yes, he was holding it. I only ever pulled and attacked if he was carrying it.

You sure he was holding it? Sskai's normally holds a wicked blade, which is almost identical to the green Sskai's Sword. Does Sskai drop any loot at all when you kill him? If he isn't dropping anything period, then the anti-farm code has kicked in and you are just wasting your time. When I was going for the sword, I could only kill him 2-3 times before the code would kick in, which meant I'd have to take my character somewhere else for 20 minutes. Luckily I got the sword on the 7th kill.

I finally gave up and bought it, figuring that the 20k I paid was about equal to 20 short generic farming runs, which takes less time than trying to get him to drop it.

Yeah, Sskai now always holds his sword and doesn't drop it only when he has it. Now he drops it randomly, unlike before, when he dropped it when he had it. I'm guessing the update probably made it that way.

Man, I made so much money off that snake thing, but alas, times are times.

I use this build to solo farm wing.

executioner's strike
penetrating blow
penetrating chop
distracting blow (or disrupting? i forget what its called, the 20 sec-disabling one)
tiger's stance
dolyak sig
healing hands
mending

i think i use 15 axe, 10 str, rest in healing

i like to leave a mesmer or two up near wing, so they willwand me and give health from healing hands. other than that, spam attack skills and dont let him use heal sig. usually with each time i hit the sig i get him down 30-ish% of his health, so 3 ints is all it takes to kill him.

you can lure him all the way down where all the villagers are, makes him get stuck sometimes and means he wont strike back. You only need to worry about his signet.

I can solo wing,three blade with my touch ranger never got a green off him..

Is it possible to pull wing out of his mob? Didn't seem like it to me but some of the above comments make me wonder.

I would think that a little W/Me signet hate would work well here..

just got another green from him today! i used a 55 iw mesmer with ignorance! works pretty well! this build can also be used against sskai!

i spammed wtb sskai's sword in kaineng for a few minutes then decided to grab some hench and farm him, first run he dropped his sword for me...
