My lack of green items

ok ive played guild wars for 300+ hours now sad to say and on prof/fact campaign i still havent found 1 green item. i go on runs in random high lvl places with bosses that potentialy drop greens am i doing anything wrong...

im a w/mo and i travel with a full hench party (8/8)

do you get a better drop rate if ur party has less ppl in it?

Traveling with a hench party is your problem, your drop rates are divided with 7 other people and you don't even see if they're dropped, thus creating the illusion that bosses aren't dropping anything.

And in Cantha some bosses are notorious for keeping their weapons from solo farmers...

Just luck, try solo farming some bosses, with a wammo you can easily find a build and try it..look in the farming section of the campfire

if u bring henchies the henchies are allowed to get the greens there are alot of ssaki sword farming builds search for it.

If you want greens, first find some bosses that are easy to get to. If you can solo them great, if not take as few as possible, and just kill him over and over again.

Using this technique, my rit has 1 faction green, my ele 2 and my monk 1, although none of them are as great as the SF or ToPK greens, there not bad just not great.

The previous responses are absolutely correct: if you want greens, go solo or with a smaller party.

BUT...

...I have around 300 hours, I'm not very good so I always travell fully henched, yet I have had around 8 different greens, the last of which was the very lovely Woe Spreader (Necro staff worth ~50k)

So, yes: you're unlucky!

Same here, I hench while exploring and I get green drops sometimes. Odd thing is I've gotten more Cantha Greens than Tyria greens despite the fact everyonwe says greens drop less there.

in Tyria there are like 3 areas u can get green drops : Grenths Footprint, Sorrows Furnace, Tombs of the Primeval Kings

in cantha you can get them from almost every area.. personally ive only gotten like 3 greens from tyria (victos axe, victos blade from 1 tombrun, and wroths rod from a multitude of SF runs, even tho i didnt even get it, as it seems ive not seen it drop, and some friendly party member waited 5 mins and picked it up..). from cantha ive gotten like 6-7 merkis gaze, upwards of 10 geoffers bulwarks, wing axes, etc etc

its just more bosses that drop them now

I hench, PUG and solo bosses in Cantha, lots of hours and dead bosses so far and have yet to see a green item drop in Cantha - ever.

Those people that see green items, what geography are you in? I have a theory...

And a little update...

Went out with my Guild leader this morning, as we both fancied having Wing's Axe. We tried to duo him (me a W/Mo, Tyr a R/A) but got thoroughly twatted by the buffed Wing, Three Blade.

So we tried again, us two plus 4 henches.

Run 1 - Wings Axe drops for Tyr.

Run 2 - Wings Axe drops for Tyr.

In my guild I'm looked at as a lucky charm, when they farm for greens I always get an invite!

Got an IDS on my first ever attempt too

oh well henchy are greedy creatures they'll steal all good drops

but still u need some luck as well, smtimes i'm getting few white drops after finishing mis/clearing area with ppl only, and smtimes i'm getting greens/golds with 7 henchy.... also i've noticed that quite often i'm getting few good drops in a row, so if i got nice gold staff dropped for me in 1 area chances are i'll get gold weapon in another.... or i'll get noting for few days

i think i had few green drops in factions, alot of nice gold items but greens are rare...

FWIW: The only Canthan greens I've ever seen were found while solo farming. I've never seen one drop during normal play.

I've been playing both Prophecies and Factions for some time now and while I mainly just play the quests/missions, there has been plenty of hours wasted just running around farming monsters. To this day the only green I've gotten was a pair of green daggers during the FPE . . . and I forgot to plug them into storage and subsequently lost them.

Lame.

Ziinjuu's Sanctuary dropped for me in Sunqua Vale when I first started Factions. No green items for me ever since.

I've never even SEEN a green, despite every damn boss in Cantha apparently having one...

So, yes: you're unlucky! I'd rather say you're lucky. Got two greens in 300 hours, always with full party of henchmen (then again, I'm not hunting greens). Only ever killed Kepkhet one time (was on my way), and I got the staff ; go figure.


BTW : I play european servers too. Think there's something there ?

heheh ive got 2k+ hours with only 2 greens ever dropping for me. Admittedly a lot of that time was idling/pvp >.>

i think i had few green drops in factions, alot of nice gold items but greens are rare... i think this is partly true because i farm southern cantha for greens, and thus far ive gotten 4 drops. However, it took a while to get my first green (with 7 henches) and right after that, on the same run, i had my second green drop. Then about 2 weeks later, i get my 3rd green, and almost right after that, on the same run again, i got my 4th.

I just started farming for greens a few days ago and went with a 4 person party. Only 1 green dropped out of 6 bosses and that was Jayne's Staff which someone else got.

Later that day I tried farming by myself with my Smite Monk, taking 4 henchies and I got Jayne's Staff. Just an hour ago, I took the same 4 henchies and after about 5 tries, I got The Scar Eater.

Cant venture too far in Eternal Grove with 4 henchies but give the scar eater boss a try since he's right outside of the door at Eternal Grove. There are only 3 small groups of monsters to get rid of before taking on the boss. Those 3 groups I clear in about 5 minutes. I took the healer, warrior, mage, and mesmer henchies.
