do you think factions is a let down?

Maybe you should read the Cantha quests better, they have a wicked sense of humor at times and there are numerous references to comedy and SF shows in them.
As I've said before, it's a game. DOING the quest has to be interesting. The fact that people feel the need to point out how interesting it is to read the quest descriptions just shows how badly the quests themselves suck.

On the subject of Factions, meh, but one great thing it's done for me is cut down on my GW playing time. I'm still playing, but nowhere near as much as I used to, and I couldn't give a crap about chapter three at this point. So the one huge thing Factions has done for me is cure my GW addiction and allow me to move on to other games and activities. For that reason, I'll remember it fondly, if at all.

So that you can become addicted to other games?

I dont think fections was a letdown, i just think they cannot charge the full game price (40-45€) but only the expansion price (20-25€) because i dont really think its a stand alone game...

My concern is that GW doesn't have many challenging ( well there's UW,FoW & elite missions but still) dungeons & wizard towers etc... Those places that you don't go with henchies...

Instead of Fedex type quests around city, wouldn't it be funnier to get a quest where you get for example a riddle which has clues to some mysterious place on Cantha. The riddle itself would be challenging to solve and the place where it leads could be for example ancient ruins of Grenth's temple. And then your party would have to find a way inside and explore etc...

Instead of dozen Fed-ex quests, maybe less quests but with more quality?

as a full retail game yes i find it disappointing, it seems more like an expansion pack

Well, it's healthy to change addictions every once in a while.

I like playing factions for the pvp and some of the later kurzick and lxuon quests later in the game. Most of the time you get more faction from those quest then you do playing the allaince battles. Also, its easier to make money in the game from the faction rewards.

I get 20k for 10 ambers i get from doing the faction quests and allaince battles. I dont mind the "fedex" quest caue once you get past the city there are more funner and challengin quests later.

finally im happy cause i got a black moa

I wouldn’t say a let down just a bit disappointed. Once you get to the faction side of choice I thought there would be more towns on the Kurzicks side and Luxon. I would also like to have seen more quests, challenge missions, and more repeatable quest for gaining faction points.

I completely agree with you here. In Prophecies I played all 6 professions through the game. It was fun and didn't feel the grind. I've played one character through Factions and have very little desire to get any other character through the game. I just don't feel like there is any reward to go out and get.

It wasn't said at all in this thread before you posted Mr. BOLD ALL CAPS.

Even if that is the case, it still feels like a rush job expansion that doesn't warrant it's stand alone price. If the teams are staggered like you say, then of course the result is going to be staggered products and it shows. Factions is a pretty weak following to Prophecies and I sincerely hope that it isn't a sign of what's to come.

The benefits are the ability to take your characters (if you choose to link the two) through each continent and play all the missions and most of the quests.
You do not lose anything.

GW:F does not overwrite anything, current characters stay where they are with the equipment they have, nothing changes and you can play your existing characters as much as you want.
You can start a new character in Cantha if you choose or simply take a Tyrian character to Cantha, all of that is up to you.

So basically, you get more and do not give up anything that you have now.
Thanks mate, and thanks Ninna also

I actually like GW:F. I've played for atleast 1 hour a day in general now since the release, and I'm only at maatu keep. I dont rush it, I take some time to do challange missions, allaince battles, farming I dont just follow the storyline all the time. It would be more things to keep ppl rush it, then other ppl then just I (and a few) would be happy about it.

I play more other games now since factions realese and ch.3, No Thanks.
There is some new games being realesed about the same time as ch.3 is schedueld that seems a lot more inviting.

Poor assassins, worthless peices of junk.

IMO the new classes weren't very good, Ritualists try to be a healer, a minion master and a spirit spammer, all in one, but aren't as good at them as a Monk would be at healing, a Necromancer at Minions, or a Ranger at spirit spamming.

Assassins are too fragile, when I was in a mission with a Assassin, I had to constantly heal him, every hit he got took him down to about 50% health, while our tank took about 2-3 damage each hit. Assassins are good for shadowstepping, which makes them a fun class to play.

but thats just my random uninformed rant, dont mind me.

I'm having the same problem as felinette. Factions was too short, and Cantha too small. More variability might help. Maybe setting an amusement park with fully functional rides in Cavalon and a horror house in House Zhu Heltzer might spice things up... I dunno.

I thought House zu Heltzer was already a horror house... all those bloodless people standing around in their dark clothes...
