new Title: The Quitter

My "Coward" Title worked better about forgiving "real life/connection issues" But unfortunately it's not applicable to PvE.

In addition the thread got pushed to the 2nd page so fast no one even replied. Which is sad because it had some other balencing ideas for when people leave in 12v12.

For all the punks who leave because they are afraid of Touch Rangers. Damn cry babies!!! Thanks for the free wins cowards. And for the ppl who leave because your on a team with a touch ranger you should loose fame evertime you do it, because you don't deserve it.

I like the "Quitter" idea, but realistically it's probably too much work to implement for a negative title. You have to account for /resign, error 7's etc.

Actually I get upset at afk PvPers more. How to implement something like a "Coward" title practically is a question, especially since PvP is a team thing so something like a "do 10 legitimate TA/HA/alliance battle games to clear your name" will be much harder to achieve than in PvE, since nobody will take them in the group.

If i see abuse aimed at me or another in a team, i ask it to stop or i leave.

Often i end up leaving, so yea, i really want this title

Quitting is for cowards no matter what the situation. I have been screwed over by people saying one thing and doing another too but if you are able to work the title off then WHY NOT?! Do you honeslty quit that much in a row that you have to worry about it? If so then maybe you should find somewhere else to play or at least not PUG at all. Because as fair as you think you are being, if you quit that often IN A ROW then there is something wrong with you or the groups you pick. Don't continue to let the rest of us get punished because you suck at picking up PUGs or dealing with them once you have them OR because you can't be bothered to type /resign

Time is money and when someone wastes what little time I have I get a bit ticked off.... Some of us can't sit and play games 24/7 and those that can need to be more respectful of that. Yes I have NEVER quit even in the WORST of teams. If they are that bad they will fall apart reguardless of what I do. So yes Quitting is for Cowards. Don't like it, don't quit and waste peoples time cause you think its funner that way. And reality is 3kids and jobs! This is our only break time and we would like to be able to get further without running into cowards who can't be bothered to actually do what they are suposed to.

And if its just a game then PLAY IT AND DON'T QUIT IT just because you can't hack it.

Quitting on for no legitimate reason is cowardice, regardless of the battlefield. You don't just walk away from battle, because you don't feel like it, other people are count on you to at least be cannon fodder. If you don't feel like it, don't go in in the first place.

Dosage of discipline STAT.

Not everyone who quits thinks it's funny or is doing so simply because they can't handle the game. It's really not all that fair to punish people who have to leave for legitimate reasons the same way as the people who quit just because they think it's funny.

Oh, im not saying i quit at the drop of a hat, but if i see abuse, it stops or i go. If i see the same warrior aggro for the umptimpth time, when hes told not to, i go.

Theres no real way to see whos a quiter or not. What if everyone dies in a mission but an afker looking for a free ride? Or a scammer doesn't want to pay for an elona reach run. Or everyone dies but an afker in a droks run?

OK it's obvious that some of you either again cannot read or just don't want to OR would rather all quitters continue to get away with ruining the game for others.

The title would be like DP, YOU CAN GET RID OF IT! AND IT ONLY INCURRES IF YOU QUIT 50 TIMES IN A ROW FROM MISSIONS/PVP AND THE SORT!.... Now TELL ME WHO THE BLOODY HECK QUITS THAT MANY TIMES IN A ROW EXCEPT YOUR NORMAL RUN OF THE MILL GAME KILLERS?!?!?!?

Well not that many people quit or have to quit the game 50 times in a row from missions. However, for PvP I know that there are many times when you simply quit and leave; which does not mean that I think it's funny but sometimes necessary. For instance, if I'm in the random arena and I get a team where one persons leaves what is left for me? A 4 on 3? And what if someone else leaves? 4 on 2? There isn't much purpose in me hanging around only to get beat on for no reason. And as mentioned before people play this game for fun and the point at which the game begins to become no fun, either due to abusive people or droppers in PvP, then I'm going also.

And aside from PvP how will people 'work off' their DP like penalty for leaving? Will it simply decrease over time or will it be mission based? Because to be honest I don't see how it would be all that hard to counter if they just have to run the first mission in the game(Prophecies).

So if there were to be some sort of penalty applied to people who quit, I'd like to see something more along the lines of losing gold based on what lvl you are. With perhaps a limit on the number of times you're allowed to drop from a party 5-10 times. And those 5-10 'allowances to drop' will be replenished over the course of a week or so (24hrs/drop). After you run out of allowances you'll start to pay a penalty based on the number of human players in the party and your current lvl. So let's say lvl 1-10 0g, lvl 10-14 100g, and lvl 15-20 200g. For example if you have 5 human players in your group and you're lvl 20 and you leave you pay a fine of 1k, which will be automatically taken from your inventory or even your storage. Or there could even be a new table in your 'hero' window where you get a 'Fines' section, where a portion of your gold is automatically garnished as payment.

Somthing actually happened exactly like this yesterday. I was playing gw and starting Tananakai Tample. Then guess what, I hear my mom calling my name and I run to the kitchen to find out that she had fallen from the ladder (she was painting) and she really hurt her foot. She was really in pain, so I had to drive her to the hospital. It turned out she fractured her foot. When I came back an hour or more later to shut off lights and all of the other stuff I had on, I went to shut off the computer. I was very shocked to see that they had completed the mission, but they were posting

"GTFO FREAKING RIT"
"SPIRITUAL WAS CHAM IS A ******"

and that really hurt my feelings, but it was not my fault! I understant that this does not really have anything to do with the topic. But it is my experience that I thought I`d share.

Maybe it could be 25 quits in 3 months, and at the end of 3 months it is reset to 0 or something like that.

If you are not a quiter this will not be a problem.

Now, having commented on all of this I must say that I don't see how this could possibly be implimented. There are too many variables involved.

The problem that alot, if not most, of us players (myself included) have is that we are not game designers or programmers and have no clue as to what it takes to make any game work as well as it does.

I'm liking this idea. seriously, 25 quits in a row? I haven't even done 25 missions. Even if you get a 5:1 ratio (5 Successful teams: 1 Quit), you'd never even come close to receiving this title, since the old quits are constantly worked off.

It would definitely take a lot of effort to get this title. I doubt any honest player could accidently get this title over time. Sure you can say they can work off the title by doin the Great Northern Wall Mission over and over, but it's their time to waste to work it off.

Kinda like those days in BattleNet, no one would want to play against a guy who has a lot of disconnects on their record.

Why this isn't fair:
-Quiting is not breaking the rules.
-You can scam easier in Elona Reach runs as the runner and the rest of tghe party wouldn't be able to quit.(In short it helps scammers)
-What if someone goes for a free ride and goes afk? you can't quit your forced to give it to them.
-Error 7
-A henchman gets stuck and is unnoticed. Your whole party dies far away from this henchman. Because one henchie is alive you can't get resurrected. You are forced to quit. I'm not even saying this has to be an all henchman party.
-There are things outside the game that may make you have to leave.

Theres much better ways to deal with this than punishing the quiters. I said it twice and I'll say it again. Just replace them with a henchman of your choose or the quiters profession. Punishing them is not going to help YOU after they quit anyway. True it may stop them from wanting to quit but I see people continueing on there quiting sprees.
