So am I screwed?

I already own the original Guild Wars and I purchased Factions off the ncsoft website but I didn't know what the hell I was doing and somehow created another account

now I have one account on the original game and one on factions

Is there something I can do other then buying the game again?

Maybe contact ANET support, but looks like you may be out of luck and now have a mule account.

Talk to support, I believe they have been able to sort this out for some people.

I think you are stuck, they said they would not be merging accounts, but perhaps they will if you haven't done anything yet. It is worth contacting support over though.

I think the sooner you contact support the higher the chances it is that they will be able to do something. Support will be able to look at the date you put the key and tell that you made an honest mistake. I'm sure they had lots of people who called and are in the same situation as you are.

I did the same thing. I've been talking with support people for the past couple days. So far they don't have a solution, but they said they will notify when they look into the problem further. It would be a pain to have to go out and buy a new game

it all depends if you bought a key online from play ncsoft or got a boxed copy.

Thats rediculous, they should have made this situation more clear when you got the game.

On the GW website on the factions faq there is a question that says "If I do not bind my Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions accounts when I set up the Factions account, can I have them bound together later?" and the answer was "No. You must make a decision about binding your Guild Wars/Guild Wars Factions accounts when you first set up Guild Wars Factions. We are not able to merge accounts at a later date." and you already setted up your account. Also I believe it cleary tells you your options in creating your GW accounts. So the answer to your questions is... I hate to say this, but I must be truthful, is that your SCREWED.

I dont think there is anyway to get them combined without buying another gw factions or gw. (I would buy gw because it may be cheaper, and I think you can merge gw with gw factions). because those people from anet never be dishonest and say "we are not able to merge accounts at a later date"

I'm very sorry for you. Yes they should have had a big popup before you created a account, or merged an account, saying "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CREATE A SEPERATE ACCOUNT RATHER THAN CREATING A MERGED ACCOUNT, YOUR DECISION IS FINAL"

Well it looks like Ill be going out to buy a new GW.

obviously you havent added a key because they do.

first pane gives you a CHOICE of add key to existing account OR create new account.

then it asks you if you really want to do this as it cant be changed later.

what more do you want?

I don't believe this to be true, aslong as you have the CD Keys to prove that both the Prophecies and Factions account there should be no problem.

it has been officially confirmed.

the online PLAY NCSOFT site selling the keys online had unclear instructions leading people to set up duplicate accounts instead of merging.

their solution was to offer a lockdown of the incorrect new account and issue a fresh key.

as said confirmed by NCSoft.

also stated this would not be done for boxed product.
