As we all well know, NPC's show up as a light green, this includes minions and everything else. Party members show up as a green color.

My suggestion: Change it so that out in instances, your party members are a blue color like in towns when the party is formed. This would avoid losing party members in a mob of NPC's or minions. To add on, perhaps the minions could get a brown color (or other color) on the compass so not to blend in with NPC's and party members.

As long as they don't start using shades of colours that wouldn't show up clearly.

Not so much a problem before but with all the green friendly's in factions explore zones.. and it would be a nice touch in town too

I think a gold colour for people in your guild so its like the [guild name] in your named.

There was also another thread somewhere that suggested that the friends and guild indicators should be made distinct from their player names. They did it for the guilds by having the initials of the guild in gold, but to add it to the radar along with your friends would be a cool addition

It would also add some realism to the game, just imagine you're in town and all of a sudden you see someone you know, the same implication could be applied here

Don't make the minion color on the compass brown, mainly because of Kaineng City, they would blend in with the map. Then again it depends on the shade of brown used.

Party Members are always circles, other allies are triangles. After a while you learn to tell them apart when they are stacked.

only spirits and minions are triangles. When your eyes go square froms taring at the screen too long, those triangles start looking like circles :P

allies who arent in your party (but are accompanying you) are green circles. NPC's are triangles.

I think while in town it should be, gold for guild, pink for friends and blue for others. Pink chosen because it's not monster red, nor does it blend in with the background.

Ive always wondered why there is light blue and dark blue, anyone know?

Ligh blue seem to be for those out of a party, dark for those that are already in one, but it seem that those colors update slowly.

Pink is really bad idea. Why? I hate pink. What? Of curse is a good reason! I hate pink! Dark purple sounds better.

Looks like this was too hard for ANet to implement. WoW has this style feature too, including seeing party/guild members on the map.

Yeah. Useful. Blue is never used in explorables.
