This is a serious problem.
Heres a screenshot of what I just saw in American D1... pretty stupid if you ask me
/edit
i don't think the Mo/R is a bot because of the different placement and everything but all the others... pretty obvious, they are all in a huge line.
oh, and another thing... there are currently 4 districts at elona reach, and only about 10-15 real people in all of them.

Lots of these accounts do gat banned, but the companies make so much money from ebay and the like that they have literally hundreds of accounts just waiting to replace the banned ones.
Everyone says the bots are the problem. Not true. The real problem is the thousands of lazy assed players that buy the gold. If they didn't buy the bots would be gone.

I Sell, You Buy! You Buy!!! 1234, 400K, 600K, 800K, 1000K
Ya i mean if you think about how much money these bots can make.
45sec run = roughly 600g,
So Averaging 60 runs in an hour, give or take issues like lag and such.
Thats 36000g
Say they leave it on overnight while they sleep,
36000g x 7-8 hours sleep per person on average = 288000g
Hmm, and what happens if they leave it on for 48 hours non-stop.
A whopping, 1728000 ready for the ebay pot.

there is a real problem with bots in Elona Reach, today I could only find 6 real player in 4 districts of bots. baning the bot is one solution, but a better solotion is to fix the problem. the way the zone in points face it allows the bots to run with a simple progam (run foward, straf right, run foward , target nearest ally) to get to the merchant and sell. the solution is to move the merchant, behind storage or up by the henchies would brake the bot program.

Ban/delete the bot accounts.
Surely ANet know about this issue by now, I can't think of what would be holding them back. I can understand why they nerfed the area of Augury Rock, as it was not just bots that farmed there. But this time, it seems almost all of them are bots.
Just go to Elona Reach Int District 1, or American District 1 (can't go there as I'm European but I know a lot of bots have moved over there).
Take a look at the bot paths. When they spawn, most of them do not go directly to the merchant. They walk along the side of the rocks, stop, then run over to the merchant. Different groups stop at different points. These different groups probably belong to different bot programmers.
I can't understand why some of them are at storage, nor why some of them are standing at the gate. These might be non-bots. But the rest have clear paths and all pile up in a big long list by the merchant.

bots find alot of the rarer items taht we cant, also like hock said, tehy ban some and there arent hundreds, but thousands of accounts just waiting to be used by these mass chinese sweat shop companies...
also, if they evr banned EVERY single account, and the companies stopped buying accounts... Anet would lose millions of dollars.., this is exactly why they are not going to elona and banning all the bots they see

Anet does ban every botted account they catch. It's ludicrious to think otherwise. But, Anet has to virtually 100% sure it's a bot before they're banned. Just the number of posts in this forum alone about bannings, legitimate or not, suggests that Anet watches as much as they can given the small amount of staff they have.
Many of these accounts are also stolen from people believing they're downloading a cheat/hack/duper. While I believe these idiots deserve to lose their accounts, it's too bad that the accounts are used to further effect the economy, for the worse.
The bots do not find rarer items. Do you really believe that such an overfarmed area will yield much in the way of rare items? Most of these things are bought and sold to and from the same retards that are buying the gold on ebay. And that's amazingly hilarious. And pathetic at the same time.

lol Stop buying online gold people (who ever you are), and they will slowly fade away. Keep buying, and they will find more ways to keep providing, put an end to the source. If you don't think you have the time or the resources to get your own gold, just be patient. Once the prices start dropping on alot of things, rare weapons etc, the more affordable things will be to the average player. Because it's not much of an economy if nobody can afford anything off of an average income is it? If there's only a handful of rich people out there that can afford the prices, then people are going to be wasting hours at a time trying to sell anything, with hardly nobody buying.

What's got me miffed is the BALLS these guys have now. I mean they're not even trying to keep in secret in Internation districts anymore. Even the American districts are now full of them. I see that as a spit in the face, personally. No shame, no fear. Have they won? |
- make runes penalty non stackable. So wearing two of the same superior runes no longer reduce health by -75*2.
- in theory reduce the amount of penalty from superior runes and major runes perhaps this will also be efficient. Something like 40 major and 60 superior
- make maps where farming is heavy more dynamic. unpredictable spawning and unpredictable enemies
- make plenty of mesmer and necro profession enemies with an AI script to remove, shatter, interrupt, and otherwise do exactly what we would do in pvp to a 55 monk: interrupt key enchants poison, hex with degen, shatter enchants.
- yes I know this can quite possibly kill ALL 55 monks including human ones but humans have brains bots dont, humans can adapt to a situation bots wont be able too. Besides this would solve the monk 55 problem.
- accounts with repetitive farming get busted with a harsh "crap only no golds" effect for that area for a loooong time with no cooldown if person is not online or lower cooldown rate when person is not online (harder to implement, may affect a lot of people if they farm the same place too much)
However if Anet is making money out of these In game Gold sales to the people I doubt any of that will be implemented

Other then that there is no real solution. Nerfing the area would be stupid.
There isn't a "Monk 55 problem", there is a BOT problem. If there was a 55 problem, the -50 cesta wouldn't exist still, same with the -20 item. There's nothing wrong with tweaking your character so you can solo. Messing with the runes would do nothing, because there can be solo warrior bots. Stop buying online gold, problem solved.

Sure...the better the bot the more time someone has to spend making it better...but the better the bot the harder it is to tell its a bot.
Ban bots....meh...I don't really really care because I don't view them as being the problem. The problem is that some armor/weapons and materials that are nearly essential to play competitively require more gold than you gain simply from doing missions, therefore you must farm....hence the gold farmers who sell to people who dont have time to farm but money to blow.
