Ok, I think this is some kind of bug. I cannot play the mission Gates of Kryta with my Factions character (Ritualist). The strange thing is, I can play all of the other Kryta missions...
This is what I get:

Perhaps because Faction characters have access to Prophecies starting at Lion's Arch, and the Kryta mission is the mission right before Lion's Arch.

all the other Kryta missions are POST-LA.. while Gates of Kryta is PRE-LA. also, the main purpiose for Gates of Kryta is to gain access to LA for the Ascalon refugee's..

And since for Faction character's you START in LA and can't do any of the Ascalon & N.Shiverpeaks quest's (because of the point of the storyline you enter in).. and since your not comming to LA from the Ascalon way and leading refugee's to LA.. and becausre you don't need to open access to LA.. you can't do it.

It's just a fact of life.. Faction characters can't do quest's from Gates of Kryta and earlier.

Wow that sux... I really hoped I could do all the quests/missions... So our Factions characters will never be able to complete the Tyria Mission Title?

very good question, does it show your title progress as /25

that also effects your tyria map coverage...

I dont care what the excuse, if you own both games, you should be able to run all your characters through all missions regardless. I paid the money, I want results.

Yes, I agree. I was so happy when I travelled to LA. Doing all Tyria missions/quests/... That would be another 500 hours of fun in Tyria, but now... Argh, dissapointed.

Also, did Anet ever mentioned this that you will not be able to do missions that come before LA?

You can quest for skills forward from LA but not back either.

I was not able to do the "The Ascalon Settlement" quest from Damaris outside LA or "The Last Hog" from Farmer Dirk near Ascalon settlement.

So far I was able to get the following SKILL quests:

Maliquire's Test
Archivist Ithimar
The Hot Spring Murders
The Undead Hordes

Will Canthan characters be able to ascend so we can get to droks?

I don't think Canthans can do the Sanctum Cay mission either. No ascension.

All I can say is that this is complete stupidity. I was really looking forward to playing through Tyria in its entirety with my Assassin (since honestly, Cantha disappoints me). This will indeed make it impossible to gain the title based on mission completion, and also the exploration title, since missions count as well.

Not that I've ever heard. But I do remember the explanation from A-net about getting 2 additional slots when you merge the campaigns being better than having them as seperate accounts going like this:

6 characters X 100% content > 8 characters with 50% of the content.

So, where's the 100% content for the combined accounts if you can't access anything before LA & it's Canthan counterpart? hmmmm....

This totally sucks. I was looking forward to taking my Canthan characters over to Tyria and starting from the very first mission. The early ones would be a cake walk, but still.

And yeah, I thought merging accounts meant all characters could play ALL content from Prophecies and Factions (barring the training areas, of course).

There are Canthan entrances to FoW and UW.

I don't find it stupid that you can't do everything in Tyria with your Canthan char. I DO however find it stupid that once you've linked Factions to your account, you can't make an assassin or ritualist in Tyria. Surely it wouldn't have hurt them too much to put in 2 extra npcs into pre-sear for quests, and then, what... 4 more npcs pre-kryta for them too? Laziness on their part if you ask me.

I find what they said misleading. They said if you linked Factions and Prophecies, you'd get two more character slots, and all content for all characters. That turned out to be false. Also, someone said in another thread that characters coming over from Cantha start outside the gates of Lion's Arch. If that's true, they could have had the Canthans talk to an NPC outside the gates and then transport them to Old Ascalon. Mhenlo could have made it through before the gates closed, or something like that. They could have fudged it somehow.

Yeah, I said the same in another thread. I sat down Saturday morning thinking that I'd create a ritualist for the prophecies campaign. Was surprised and disappointed when only the six original professions came up. Honestly, I expected that adding new classes meant you could play those classes in any of the campaigns.

Anet's definition of 100% content is bulls***.

Chapter 3 went from "i'll buy" to "I'll wait and see"

Developers really need to watch what they promise. If a game is hyped up, it had better have all the expectations and more. Breaking this rule damages the series, and probably more important to the corporation, their reputation with the gamers.
